Better than you expected

You didn't really know what to expect when you decided to approach Taylor, in a simple white shirt and a pair of shorts way too short for legs as long as hers, but she seemed willing to give you a few minutes.

"Been coming to these parties long John?" she asked you after you made yourself known to her, giving you a sweet smile and letting it be known to you that you were currently the only person in the room to her by turning her back to everyone else.

"Actually Taylor, this is my first one," you tell her as she leads you to a corner table, away from all the hustle and bustle of the party.

"Cool," she tells you, her eyes burning a hole in you as she keeps her attention on you, "despite what you may have heard, this is my first one, too. I'm not the kind of girl people try and make me out to be."

"I believe you Taylor," you tell her, strangely drawn to her like a beacon in the night, "so I'm cool if we just chill for awhile, baby."

"Don't go calling me "baby" just yet John," she tells you in a teasing way, "but if you play your cards right the rest of the night, you just might earn that honor."
