Chapter 11 by throbbin

How does the meeting go?

Pretty well

You leave your tent and call for a meet. The various leaders and lieutenants of your tribe soon arrive, eager to find out what you've been doing with the human. You explain your marriage and the fact that Thora is going to be a great help in farming and in asking for blessings from another Goddess, one that no other goblin tribe can court.

Your tribe are generally pleased, especially the farmers. They're some of the most forward looking members of the tribe and are willing to try just about anything to produce a little more grain for the cows. That includes venerating a Goddess who is typically worshiped by humans and is always depicted as human in art and literature.

Not surprisingly the shamans like the idea the least, but you manage to demonstrate to them that Freyala, Goddess of Spring doesn't overlap very much with the various goblin deities. Her domain is mostly that of growth and plants, the bounty of nature, the harvest and fertility. Of all those only fertility overlaps. You draw on your extensive knowledge of human culture and add that even in that there is a difference. Freyala's fertility has much more to do with the fertility of plants and livestock. In many prudish human cultures her influence over the fertility of humans and other sentient races is downplayed.

With the shamans on board, or at least willing to take a wait and see approach, you move on to the more difficult subject, half-breeds. You tell the assembly that you plan to breed Thora and that of course you intend to change your father's laws to allow that.

That causes a stir. More the part about the laws, as any goblin who saw her yesterday or heard her screaming can understand why you want to fuck her senseless. Goblins might be somewhat lawless as a rule, but once a law is enforced for long enough they start to become attached to it. You could simply declare it's the chief's right, but your father very rarely did that. He knew, as you do, that it erodes your authority. Eventually other goblins decide to take for themselves, as long as they can avoid getting caught.

You tell them that you don't plan to go back to the old ways of raping every human woman you find. There's a little disappointment, but not that much. Many goblins of your tribe see this, like the farming, as something that sets them apart from their less civilized kin. You offer a new deal: Breeding with human women will be allowed henceforth ... but only if they are willing, a goblin is married to them and only with their husband's permission.

One of you more junior patrol leaders asks "How are we going to manage that? I don't know many human women that want to screw a goblin."

You tell him you now know one and you have a plan to find more. First, the presence of Thora is going to put other prisoners at ease. She's here willingly and she's a high priestess of a well know Goddess.

Second, the tribe is going to make a point of grabbing women who might prefer being married to a goblin to their current situation. You will organize raids against slavers, both human and orcish. Some of the women brought back as slaves from these raids might choose to become wives willingly.

Then you explain the best part. The slaves from these raids, men and women will be told they must help work the farms. They will also be told they will be released after one year, sooner if they can get someone to pay a reasonable ransom. This way the tribe will get extra labor on the farms and these slaves will have a full year during which they will see that we do not rape anyone and that any women who have taken husbands are well treated.

By the time the year is up some will have changed their minds. The rest will be allowed to leave and they will tell tales of a tribe of goblins that are not the animals they've been taught we are. This will bring us more women.

Another leader, this time one of the shamans asks "How will they do that?"

You tell them how in many human cultures there are people with nowhere to go. Orphans who are forced to live unsavory lives, women who have been cast out by their families for giving birth out of wedlock, prostitutes and so on. Some of these people might trust us more than the evil humans who have controlled their lives in the slums and brothels of the larger cities.

There is some confusion among the leaders. "Wait - the humans cast women out for giving birth?"

Out of wedlock, you reply.

One of the older patrol leaders gruffly states "I gave my daughter a nice big rack of ribs when she managed to get pregnant three years younger than my oldest daughter did. I'm really proud of her for gettin' bred so soon" There are many other murmurs from the crowd.

You tell them everything is different for humans. They have just as many women as men and they expect them to pair off, two by two ... at least in all the cultures near here. Elsewhere a single man might have many wives. Before they can get bogged down in the details, or how unfair that seems, you bring them back on track.

So, my tribe, the new law will give us human wives, wives who you are not expected to share with each other. Most human women do not expect to be shared, so you must ask their permission before you do. The fact that you do ask will help bring us even more willing women. Of course if you do find one who likes the idea then by all means share away - though I suggest you put a few babies in her belly first. That gets general shouts of agreement and whistles of approval.

Each of you can have as many human wives as you want, but I warn you they can be more trouble than goblin women, and equally tiring. And for goodness sake don't ignore our own women or you'll wake up with a bruise on your head, a sore cock and empty balls. You know from the laughter that you've won them over. Having wives to themselves is a luxury most goblins other than chiefs only dream of.

How quickly do you raid?
