Xander Harris

"I am on vacation!" Xander shouted as he clubbed the warlocks head from behind. The man wearing only leather pants and a red robe stumbled and dropped his recently stolen book. As the magic user reeled Xander wound up and delivered another baseball bat to the head. This time the man in the red robe dropped to the ground and stayed there.

"Vacation, goddamn it." Xander grumbled as he poked the slumped form with his bat. "Rest and relaxation. Recharging the batteries. Not fighting the forces of evil! I do that enough during the school year! Which means you better stay down, cause if you get up... so help me... the whoopin' I will put on you."

The idiot in the red robe didnt even groan as he was poked. Xander didnt even feel bad. He could see that the magic user was still breathing.

Xander looked over at the police cruiser and the two police officers inside it. Whatever magic the red robed idiot had been using it was still going. The two male cops were too busy making out to pay attention to anything else going on.

It was after midnight, nobody else was around. If it hadnt been for his instinctive need to patrol he would have missed this robbery entirely. Which meant it was up to him to try and fix this mess.

"Fantastic." Xander grumbled. He looked at the cops, the magic book and then the red robed idiot. "I'm not lucky enough for this to just wear off."

Xander grabbed the magic book from where it had fallen and holding it carefully he gave the book a look see. Nothing was obviously screaming weird 'make out' magic spell as he flipped thru the pages of the book. Not that there were a lot of titles on the pages. And he hadnt noticed an index, a content page or anything remotely helpful at the start of the book. Like most magic books it was singularly unhelpful.

"Don't read it out loud. Don't read it out loud." Xander reminded himself as he flicked thru the pages.

"At least its in modern english." Xander muttered as he kept paging thru the spellbook. "There's some Ye olde english! Enh. Better then latin or sumerian. Thank god its not Lemurian, I suck at Lemurian."

"How hard is it to find the right magic spell to cast?" Xander asked himself. Only to shudder as he realized what he had just said. "Crap, crap, crap! I'm going to have to cast a spell! Magic hates me damn it."

"Oh shit." Xander closed his eyes and thumped his forehead with his free hand. "This is not how I pictured my graduation vacation going."
