Chapter 37 by Ai-R Ai-R

What's next?

Noblwoman → Noble Wetnurse

Now that Lilian's attitude problem is fixed, I consider what to do with her next... I think perhaps a lighter touch may be warranted, but I can still dose some karma in there. How to do that? Well... I replace 'Noblewoman' - a title she takes far too much pride in - with 'Noble Wetnurse.' Having a supportive member of the nobility is useful, and while I don't know that Arma or Artelle will necessarily need the sort of assistance a wetnurse might provide... pushing Lilian into directly serving the women she'd held in such contempt feels appropriate.

Satisfied with my reasoning, I execute the change.

Lilian's expression softens and loses the last hints of its superiority complex in a very subtle way. She just looks ****, I suppose. Her cleavage window covers itself up next as it's replace with a white button-up blouse that has vertical folds sewn into the fabric... kind of like a pleated skirt, but for the shirt(1). Concurrently, the white shawl on her shoulders melds with her sleeves and dress, becoming a set of white 'poofs' on her shoulders. After this is all tied off with a black ribbon and some gold trim as finishing touches, the changes to Lilian cease.

The room has also changed subtle, but mostly in a way that seems to have rolled back previous changes. The curtain's gone, but everything else is pretty much the same.

I think I'm happy enough with this result. It didn't necessarily make Lilian sexier, but that wasn't particularly what I was going for anyway.. although I think maybe her breasts got bigger? That might also just be the tailoring emphasizing them more.

Annotations
1): This is apparently called a 'box pleat,' - 'a box pleated shirt' - which I looked up for my own peace of mind because it bothered me that I could not name it. That said, it strikes me as relatively obscure terminology unless it's in your field, so I don't have James use the term.
