Chapter 4
by
Marcus Cooper
Who gets it?
Esdeath
The blue-haired Imperial General was engaging in a rare nonviolent pastime of hers: Daydreaming about Tatsumi. Ever since the village boy had impressed her at the tournament held to find her lover, her heart had been captured, which made it hurt when he escaped from her clutches.
Why had he ran away? Did he begrudge her for her striking him? He knew she was a sadist. It was her love language...and her hate language...she liked causing pain, okay!?
As she lamented his departure, she heard the quiet sound of a book impacting on the floor of her HQ near her. Instinctively looking up at the ceiling for anything out of the ordinary, she found nothing and moved to investigate the book.
'The world runs on rules. This is the Rulebook.' Reading the rest, Esdeath was disbelieving.
"Is this a new Teigu? Highly unlikely..." She put her mind to work trying to figure out what this 'Rulebook' could be and why it would be dropped near her out of nowhere.
She'd seen Wave writing in a journal before. When asked, he said he'd heard someone from his home say that writing down his dreams, both sleeping and waking, can keep one focused and increase their chances of coming true. She'd found the concept questionable at best, but she hadn't said anything to him.
Perhaps this 'journaling' would help the chances of Tatsumi seeing things her way?
New rule: Tatsumi will return Esdeath's affections.
Her main dream was journaled, but it felt wrong to the military woman in her to leave so much blank space. Perhaps she should dig deeper?
What next?
