Snooping Around

Lily closed the door behind her as if someone was following her. She rarely did anything so brash but she felt she was in the right to do what she did. She couldn't help but smile as she locked her door and ran over to her couch to sit. She was like a kid who had just pulled off the most marvelous prank. It was wrong and yet, she couldn't help but feel pleased with herself. Her heart was beating in her chest like a drum. She quickly pulled out two phones from her purse, one was her own and the other being Ethan's. She quickly unlocked her own and opened the notes app to find a single line of notes midway down her list of endless reminders and to-dos. It read simply, "84267491" - the code she'd sneakily obtained during the family dinner. She didn't know if it was fully correct and that terrified her. But she knew there was only one way to find out.

Lily reached out and touched the smooth screen of Ethan's phone, the screen lit up with a picture of Emilia and Ethan smiling like any other happy couple. The anticipation of this moment was killing her. She swiped her finger up the screen. The face id failed and prompted her with a keypad. "84267491," Lily muttered under her breath as she typed. Then she hit enter.

The phone opened and she felt a wave of relief wash over her. Lily navigated strait to the photo album in Ethan's phone and opened it. She was presented with hundreds of photos. Many of her sister, some miscellaneous, and some family photos she was framiliar with. But she didn't find anything suspicous. "Fuck!" Lily cursed as she finished scolling up and down the photos. Nothing? Really? What the fuck! Ethan was for sure the type of guy to want to have trophies of his conquests.

Lily closed the photo app in frustration and quickly opened the messages app. Maybe the idiot had something on there. But after 10 minutes of searching, and an unfortunate mistep in reading some of Ethan and her sister's more intimate text messages, Lily found nothing that confirmed infidelity. Although, she did find the conversations between Ethan and Zach strange and cryptic. There was definitely something there:

"Hey man, you free for some fun tonight?"

"Lol, man I think she's busy."

"Who cares? We can just catch her as she's on her way to her apartment."

Strings of messages like that went on and back for months. It was definitely strange and made her think that maybe Ethan and Zach had some kind of prostitute or strip club that they frequented. But this wasn't good enough evidence to convice her sister that Ethan was cheating. No, Lily needed something more concrete. She cursed under her breath and rolled her eyes as she realized that the plan that had started out so good may just be falling apart. Maybe she was being too hasty, but she couldn't shake the feeling that Ethan was hiding something. But where else does a dishonest freak hide something? Lily thought about it and remembered where she hid some of her more racy selfies in her younger days - the hidden photos album. It wasn't much more secure but it kept the photos hidden, obviously, and made you prove your identity again before displaying them.

Well, maybe she wasn't giving Ethan enough credit. Maybe he was smart enough to use the hidden camera roll. Lily reopened the photos app and scrolled down to the hidden photos tab. She pressed her finger on it and once again had to enter Ethan's code.

And suddenly Lily's eyes went wide.
