Mrs. Geoff needs some help at her house

After lunch, as you both finished your drinks, Mrs. Geoff leaned in with a smile. "Alex, I was wondering if you might have some time this afternoon? I could use a bit of help at home with a few chores, nothing too strenuous. Would you be up for it?"

You hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure, I don't have any plans."

"Great!" she said, clearly pleased. "It's not far from here. I could really use an extra pair of hands."

You followed Mrs. Geoff to her house. It was a cozy, well-kept place, filled with warmth and a touch of elegance. As you walked in, you noticed how quiet it was.

"Sarah’s out for the day," Mrs. Geoff explained as she led you into the kitchen. "So it’s just the two of us. I’ve been meaning to fix one of the kitchen pipes—it’s been leaking for days—but I just haven’t gotten around to it. Do you think you could take a look?"

You glanced at the sink where the trouble spot seemed to be and nodded, though a bit uncertain. "I’m not exactly an expert, but I can give it a try."

"That’s all I need," she said with a smile. "I’m sure you’ll figure it out. I’ll leave you to it, but I’ll be around if you need anything."
