I lay in the crater groaning, overwhelmed by light pain and disbelief at my survival. My metallic silver skin was now streaked with scratches and dirt. Shakily, I got to my feet, surveying the damage.

"Can’t say I expected to live through that," I muttered to myself, patting down my body to ensure nothing vital was missing.

With a sigh, I began to climb out of the crater, marveling at the resilience my new form afforded me.

The first thing I noticed was the peculiar thickness of the fog surrounding me. As I unsteadily climbed out of the crater, I made my way to a nearby tree, leaning against it for support. My metallic limbs felt clumsy and foreign.

Panic surged through me, leaving little time to cast a spell. Just then, a radiant ball of light descended from above, colliding with the boar and reducing it to nothing in a blinding explosion of holy energy. I blinked, startled, as I looked up to see a petite, angelic figure hovering above, wings fluttering gracefully. He had a delightfully feminine appearance despite being male, and his expression was a mix of annoyance and mischief.

Descending beside me, Ariel tilted his head and surveyed the area. “You know, if you didn’t insist on putting yourself in harm’s way, I wouldn’t have to save you,” he said, a teasing lilt in his voice.
