You two are committing Grand Theft Identity: Jessica is stealing Katie and you’re stealing Claire, because Jessica envies Katie her genius-girl brain, as good as Claire’s, and you (as you can now finally admit to yourself), unable to have Claire because she’s your sister, want not only her genius-girl brain but her seriously hot redheaded body — not for sex, but as your own body!

Jessica will sacrifice her stunning blonde looks in order to have Katie’s brains in Katie’s merely cute body, but David will be giving up nothing, just become the equally-brainy, impossibly beautiful, fiery-haired Claire.

You finally realize that Katie simply doesn’t call attention to her brains, but Claire, strikingly beautiful in her offbeat redheaded way, is deliberately portraying a super-nerdy stereotype based on her nearsightedness, having some success in limiting the male attention such a hot chick would otherwise get.

Jessica hasn’t told you everything, you realize. What you two are doing looks as if it’s going to amount to murder, but you know that she wouldn’t just wipe the original Katie and Claire out of existence. She must have a way to make Katie into a replacement Jessica, and Claire into a replacement David, and get them to like or at least quietly endure being their new selves.
