Inviting the boss for dinner

It had been a couple of weeks since the Barbecue and Jason and Lily's relationship was in the best position it had been since the move, Lily was feeling more optimistic and excited about her situation. Honestly it was a perfect situation for Jason, he had even managed to convince himself that inviting Ray wouldn't be that bad of a situation, after all it wouldn't be long before Lily picked up on who he was anyway and at least Lily was excited and meeting new people, Jason just hoped Lily would take learning this as best as possible.

That being said Jason was certainly not happy with Ray, especially because of his latest fuck up had given Jason a near 60 hour work week, he had been working overtime everyday and he was coming home so tired that he hadn't even been able to be intimate with Lily, she had tried to initiate a couple of times but Jason was spent from work. So Jason wasn't exactly pleased when faced with the fact that at the end of this work week from hell his reward would be inviting Ray for dinner on Saturday, but he had told Lily he would ask and Jason wouldn't let his wife down.

Jason made his way to Ray's office making sure to catch him before he left, as while Jason had been putting in this overtime Ray wasn't so Jason had to time it well, he didn't want to be seen by all of his also overworked friends to be inviting Ray to things given how no one was happy with him but also needed to actually invite him before he left. Thankfully the stars aligned and Jason was able to catch Ray as he was leaving.

"Ray wait up!" Jason called out as he locked his office, "Oh Jason you're clocking out? I thought you had work to do" Ray replies, "yeah of course I have work to do and that's your fault you inept bastard" Jason thought as he caught up to Ray. "No I'm not clocking out, lots of work to do. I just needed to talk to you" Jason says, Ray looks at him curiously "Yeah some weeks this job is quite demanding" he says like this was a natural disaster and not a direct result of him failing to send an important team-wide email last month "what did you want to talk about?" Jason grits his teeth to calm himself after Ray's comments, "Just tomorrow my wife and I were wondering if you were free and if you would like to come for dinner my wife is making her spaghetti carbonara and I think she's an incredible cook" he says masking his rage. "Well now I have to come, that sounds great when would you like me to show up?" Ray inquires, "anytime after 7 will do great" Jason answers.

Once Ray leaves Jason heads back to his desk after all someone needed to clean up this mess, "god the sooner Lily catches on to Ray's shit the better I don't know if I can do this long term" Jason thinks as he taps away on his keyboard.
