Both Parties' Intentions Change (Pregnant Mother)

--another buzz. How many was that now...? My thoughts slide beyond the topic as if down a river of mud. Sluggish, but inevitable. I try to focus, feeling a strangely familiar magic wrap around me, but... but...? But...

...I can't help but feel a little nervous, presenting my choice of man to mother. Especially as her sweet and gentle gaze tracks from my mussed, shamefully naked form to James' disheveled appearance... and lingers.

Still, mother is quite heavily pregnant for a reason, of course: She's already had her fill from a lucky paladin some months ago, and managed to get with child. Soon, I'll have a younger sibling to spoil. It should be a happy occasion, and yet...

...I can't help but feel sad. Father passed in my youth and traditions dictate mother not remarry, and yet also bare at least one 'spare' child, and so she must beseech the church to receive any chance of another child... and it is only recently a suitable pick had been chosen, or at least that the labor has borne fruit.

I don't want that. I want my man to last, and stay, and have many, many children so that mother can have many, many grandchildren. That way she won't have to... to shame herself like this, just to meet the expectations of her station. Our family has shame enough, already, after all.

Exhilarating as it is may be, I know what I am.
