Regaining her posture, and in a mild panic after realizing that she was late for her next class, Jessica looked around for her clothes, but didn't see them in her stall. Crouching down to look on the floor, she didn't see them in any of the other stalls either, or even by the sinks.
Noticing that her bag was still zipped close, and hoping that she had packed some gym clothes in there, she unzipped the bag and saw nothing there either. Drats! Now what was she going to do for the rest of the day? There was always the lost and found, and hopefully her father wouldn't notice.
Grace was driving back on her way to work, and she noticed a Salvation Army on the way.
"Perfect!" she thought, "Now I won't have to go on my lunch break."
Pulling into the parking lot, she got out of her Mercedes and opened the trunk to the four heavy garbage bags holding what were (unbeknownst to Grace) all of her daughter's clothes. Audibly grunting while picking up the first heavy bag, she had to lean back and staggered through the sliding doors.
"Clothing donation?" a man to Grace's right directed her.
"Yeah," Grace could only muster, "my daughter's doing a deep clean of her wardrobe. I've got three more where this came from," as she plopped the first bag on the counter.
"Here, let me help you out," the man guided Grace back to her car, where the pair took the next two bags onto the counter. Although he, too, was struggling a bit under the weight of all of Jessica's textile possessions, the man was gracious enough to get the final bag for Grace, thanking her for her charity while giving her a receipt.
"It's the least I could do, really," she humbled herself, "my daughter's got quite enough as it is."
"Well, it's good to help the less fortunate," the man pushed the bags of clothes onto the floor. "Have a great day!"
"Thanks, you too!" Grace waved as she left to go to work.
