Dave stays at the bar

Dave figured that the safest thing for him to do was to stay at the bar. He slowly sipped at his beer, watching the match shown on the TVs. He hardly looked up when someone sat beside him and asked "What's the score?"

He didn't look at them as he replied "3-2, with 10 minutes to go and some injury time." The man beside him grunted. "Typical. Good game though?" He ordered a beer while he waited for Dave's reply.

"Not bad. It's been pretty even, and both sides have been having some bad luck."

They carried on chatting for the rest of the game, Dave still not really looking at the man sat beside him. "Well, damn, I lost that bet. No worries. I'll do better next time."

As the barman delivered two more bottles of beer, Dave turned to his fellow drinker for the first time.

The man sat beside him wasn't much older than Dave and, like him, was clearly well muscled. Whereas Dave was wearing as little leather as he could, the man beside him was in leather jeans and chaps, boots, leather shirt, leather tie, leather biker jacket and a leather muir cap. Strands of blond hair strayed our from under the muir cap, despite his hair being neatly shaved at the sides and back.

He lifted his bottle in a toast and took a gulp before saying "I'm guessing this is your first time here?"
