(Subplot) Lexie Signs Up

"Hey, come on it's Friday night, officially. Don't you ever take a break?"

Alexandra looked up from her monitor to see Sean standing over her. She had lost track of the time a little but she still had work to do. As one of the so called "rising stars" of the Seattle based legal company she worked for there was a level of pressure on her that most of her colleagues would never be able to relate to.

"I'll be done in like an hour"

"Bullshit. You're done now. We're going for a drink"

Alexandra sighed. Maybe Sean was right, it was time to take a break.

"Give me ten minutes, I'll be with you"

Sean smirked triumphantly and Alexandra couldn't help but smile back. Her colleague could be a pain in the ass at times but he was her only friend here really.

Alexandra Tate had found so many things in life so easy. She had been a straight A student, was a talented athlete, actress, musician, spoke three languages already and was learning a fourth. The one thing she had always struggled with was making genuine connections with other people. With her long auburn hair, natural beauty and perfectly toned body most guys, when it really came down to it, just wanted to fuck her. Women tended to dislike her, mostly out of jealousy but Alexandra knew that her serious and focused nature could come off as cold, however unintentionally. It had been refreshing for her when Sean had joined the company a couple of months back. He just seemed to like her for who she was, with no ulterior motive. Of course, back then the young lawyer had no idea what Naked Ambition was or how it's agents operated.

It was a couple of hours and more than a couple of drinks later that Sean finally felt able to bring up the subject he had been wanting to get to ever since catching sight of Alexandra on the subway while out scouting for potential targets.

"So Alex, you are going to find this hilarious, but have you ever heard of this app called Naked Ambition?"

"No. What is it?"

"Fuck off Sean, you're not getting me naked. I don't even like guys!" Alexandra laughed as she sipped her beer.

"Hey, I just thought you might find it funny" Sean threw up his hands in an exaggerated defensive gesture.

Her curiosity piqued, Alexandra picked up her phone and looked up the app.

"What? Is this thing for real?" she laughed before reading out the blurb as if she were voicing a tacky commercial "Are you underappreciated in your work and home life? Are you just going through the motions through fear of failure and what other people might think of you? Our radical Naked Ambition programme will ensure that you are your most authentic self at all times, guarantee you stand out in a crowd and help you discover that even your deepest anxieties are created by social conditioning and that other peoples disapproval can't hurt you. "Sounds like you should go for it Alex" Sean goaded his colleague jokingly "I dare you! I'll even buy your drinks for the rest of the evening!"

"Damn, guys are so pathetic!" Alexandra rolled her eyes at this "You do realise even if I sign up for this you won't get to see me naked?"

"We'll see" Sean teased.

"I like you Sean but you are such a fucking dork" Alexandra giggled "But fine, if you want to throw your beer money away I'm game"

Alexandra downloaded the app, entered her details and uploaded a photo of herself smiling and raising her beer glass. She then hit the button to apply. Moments later she received a message which she again read out loud in a sarcastic announcer voice.

"Congratulations Miss Tate! You are a perfect candidate for our life enhancing Naked Ambition programme. This service will be provided to you completely free of charge. All we ask is you respond to this applications requests for updates on your progress. Please check and agree to our terms and conditions so...WHAT THE FUCK?!"

Alexandra covered as much of herself as she could as she suddenly found herself sitting naked in a semi crowded bar. It seemed that the whole place had fallen silent and just about every pair of eyes in the building were on her now. Rather than being shocked at the sudden and seemingly impossible loss of his friend and colleagues clothing, Sean was looking rather pleased with himself while openly ogling Alexandra.
