More on the punishment or time to move on?
Move on
God my muscles hurt. It may have been two 12 hour shifts but that was not enough rest. Kat was resting up. She had almost become non-verbal on me after the events. The fact a "second" punishment was coming was hardly reassuring. I needed to find some way out of this. For both of us. My muscles were sore but as the night went on, I realized now was the best chance I had. Samuel may think I was recovering. I damn sure wanted to recover. I sent Kat a series of messages just to get her awake.
What's going on!
I know your scared but I really need you tonight. Meet me by Samuel's building.
Are you... sure?
Yes
When I found Kat, she was dressed heavily and almost shaking.
"I need you to lock pick again," I said.
"What... what if he.... pun..punishes us more?" she said.
I just held her. "It's okay. I will get us out of this. But right now I need my friend."
"Friend? I thought.... I thought I was just someone... you kn... knew," she said stuttering more.
Who was I kidding. I just used to say she wasn't my friend because I was kind of a bitch who didn't want to admit I hung out with the stuttering girl. Right now though we were in this together and if we didn't make headway, then I was going to lose her and myself and if I did that. I was going to have no way to apologize to her.
"Kat, I'm sorry. You're my best friend. You always have been. I'm sorry I couldn't admit it before."
"Okay," she said. "Thank you." She began working on the lock and it took her far longer than normal but she managed.
We made our way back to the desk. This custom made wooden desk. I should have realized it that night. The desk had a stronger lock then the building. None of the other desks in the school looked like it either. Samuel owned this deck. He likely designed it. It held more secrets then just a fake journal, but like an idiot I thought I had my prize and I just ran.
Every drawer had a lock too. This was going to take all night.
Eventually Kat dropped her pick. Her hand was shaking more. "It's it's too strong. I... I can't do it. I'm scared."
I tried to help her but she ran off. Maybe that was for the better. The building was abandoned at night so no one was around but Samuel probably already knew I was here. Probably a camera somewhere.
I had a feeling Samuel may forgive me and Kat if I left now, but I couldn't do that. He would recognize I realized something. It was today or never, I walked over to a desk and grabbed a chair and tossed it through the air. It broke when it hit the ground. I grabbed it and kicked the leg off. I used the broken leg as a wedge and began breaking the desk apart. It took about two hours but his precious desk was nothing more than a pile of firewood now. Looking around though I found basically nothing- wait. Jackpot.
One of the desk drawers had a lock under it. Looking inside I saw nothing. Wait. A false bottom? I began kicking and tugging until the drawer broke apart. Inside was a creepy homemade yearbook. Time to go. Or, almost.
I grabbed some chalk and began writing on the board.
"Leave my fucking cat alone you psycho dick fucker. This is between me and you."
With that I set some papers on fire and tucked it under the broken desk. **** mother fucker.
How mad is Samuel?
