What does Kat have to say?
Quite a bit unsurprisingly
I followed Kat to her dorm. We were holding hands the entire time. Freaking gross. I was straight and I was pretty sure Kat was too. So it seemed safe to assume this punishment was for both of us. I felt a tightening in my chest. Damn it. I wanted free of this game, not to involve anyone else in it.
One we were alone I felt a sense of ease come over my body as I regained what felt like full control over myself.
“Oh god that was weird!” Kat said.
“So what is going on. The professor told me to ask you,” I said.
“Basically he is punishing both of us by making us pretend we are dating in public,” she said. “Why didn’t you tell me you were involving me in some magic bullshit!”
“Would you have believed me!” I retorted. I looked down though. She was right, it was wrong for me to to involve her without at least an explanation.
He wanted us to pretend to be a couple. God I this asshole was sick. I was straight. Course his fantasy is some limp dick shit that involves two girls.
“I guess probably not,” Kat said, clearly understanding my position.
“I’m sorry,” I said.
“It is okay,” Kat said. “But let’s promise each other one thing. No involving anyone else without at least warning them. We can’t get more people involved in this game like this. Okay?”
“Yeah, that is fair. Given what he said to me earlier. He basically said anyone I get to help me is a potential target. Fucked up asshole.”
“So what’s the plan on getting him to lose this twisted game?” Kat asked.
“I think finding the real notebook is the best bet. If we can get him away from it, that is a win technically isn’t it?”
“Yeah but I have a feeling that isn’t going to be an easy goal.”
The next morning
I made my way to the cafeteria, I needed some comfort food. I couldn’t think of anything useful last night. So if nothing else I wanted to indulge in some chocolate before anything shitty happens.
“Hey Tessa!” Sarah said. “I usually sit with Kat. So I guess we will be sitting together now that you two are a thing, right?”
Word vomit, that is how a movie once described this and it felt the most accurate. As much as I clawed at the back of my throat I couldn’t stop myself. “Oh yeah. I wouldn’t be a good girlfriend if I didn’t at least have breakfast with her, now would I?”
“Yeah,” Sarah said. “You’re such a tease. After the kiss the other day I thought I had a shot too. But no, you get Kat.”
“Sorry about that. I didn’t mean to mislead you,” I said. Those words were my own thankfully but my reprieve was short lived as I felt myself continuing. “Can ya blame me though? Kat is the best.”
“No, your right there. It’s no fair though, two good girls gone. Well, at least you two are cute together.”
I wanted to puke real vomit at this point but my body just smiled. “Thanks.”
When I sat down Kat leaned over to me and kissed me on the cheek and held my hand. I felt myself kissing her back before holding her hand tightly. I hadn’t even gotten food yet. This was freaking disgusting. Not that I had much of a desire for food at this point.
Kat had an earlier class than I did, so she left first. With her gone I was much more free and I finally got some food in me. I was going to need to consult the professor again. I wondered what I would need to trade for this cuz at this rate my social reputation was going to be gone by the end of the week. I knew I had bigger fish to fry but I wasn’t planning to just let him destroy parts of my life if I could avoid it.
Does the professor give a good offer?
The Magical Journal
The Professor's Game
A college professor has a magical journal that can compel people to obey things written about them. The rules of the book. You must write the character's full name given at birth, and one of key phrases. Action, Rule, or Belief and then a command under under that phrase.
