Get your nightly medical check-up

You enter the medbay and greet Maria with a warm smile. "Hey, Maria."

She looks up from her tablet and returns the smile. "Hey, Roy. How are you feeling?"

"Sore and still a little tired, even after my nap," you admit, rubbing your neck.

"That's expected," she says reassuringly. She preps a syringe and gives you a shot in your upper arm.

You wince slightly and ask, "What's that for?"

"It's a vitamin shot to help you maintain better energy levels," Maria explains. "Now, if you could lie down, the table will start scanning you."

You comply, lying down on the examination table. The surface is cool against your skin, and you take a deep breath as the scanner hums to life, slowly moving over your body.

There's a small moment of silence, and you decide to break it. "So Maria, can I ask what you think of Kira?"

Maria's eyes soften as she speaks. "Kira is an amazing person. She's incredibly smart, dedicated, and considerate."

You raise your eyebrows in surprise. "Considerate?"

Maria chuckles softly. "Absolutely. While she may come across as a bit distant at first, she’s incredibly kind and caring once you get to know her."

"Did you two start off close?" you ask, intrigued.

Maria's smile turns slightly wistful as she shakes her head. "No, not at all. It took quite some time for us to become friends. Initially, Kira mostly kept to herself and only really interacted with Destiny and Aneni. She's just not someone who opens up easily. But when she does, it's truly worth it."

"Does she check her smartwatch phone for messages often?" you ask Maria.

"Why? Did you send her a message?" she asks with a curious look on her face. "But yeah, she's the most active on watch chat by far."

You take note of that information as the exam comes to an end, and you sit up, feeling a bit more relaxed. "Thank you," you tell Maria.

She nods and gives you an encouraging smile. "Good luck."

You check your watch. It's 20:43, almost time for your night session. You decide to go look for Kira.
