Be honest. What do you have to hide ?

Caught unprepared, Matt didn't even think twice and replied: "Oh, it's my little project: the Sublimidream. In short, it helps you sleep using sound at an inaudible frequency. Are you interested in being one of the testers ?". He couldn't believe he explained everything, yet alone asked her to test it.

"No thanks, I don't trust this kind of thing."

"If you says so, I just thought all my testers are, you know, white, and not a lot of women. And, well, since our last discussion, I figured I could try to be, you know... More inclusive..." stammered Matt.

Sonia stayed quiet, seemingly conflicted. Matt's heart rate spiked, did he pushed his luck too far ? It was already risky to tell her about Sublimidream, she could have suspected something about her sudden change of mind.

"If you're willing to make an effort on topics of social importance, then I'll support you. How do your gizmo works ?"

Matt was not believing his ears. Yesterday she wouldn't even look at him, and now she was accepting to test HIS invention. Okay, maybe he wasn't totally honest with her, but he wasn't technically lying either.

"It's simple" he answered, "when you go to bed, press the little button on the top, the light will turn red. Keep it at maximum one meter of your head while sleeping and recharge it every 3 days of use.".

"Ok." she replied, taking the Sublimidream and the charger cable, seemingly unconvinced, "I'll tell you tomorrow if it works. See ya.".

"See ya.". The moment Sonia closed the door, Matt threw himself to the computer. He needed to disactivate the prototype, double dosing her might be dangerous. After that, since he already turned on the new machine to demonstrate to Sonia, he connected to it and started typing:

"I feel like I just had one of the best night of my life. I feel completely relaxed and rested. I trust completely Matt Dong and his invention. I love Matt Dong creation, yet won't talk about it if he doesn't want me to."

Matt stopped for a moment, he was hesitating. He should be careful with his modification, but in the same time, the feeling of power was burning inside him. For once, HE was in control. He soon resumes typing:

"Matt Dong is not privileged in any shape or form. I want to become closer to Matt Dong, but I have to hide it to my friends. I want to help Matt Dong on his project."

Tired, Matt logged off, ate Sonia's leftovers -which were tasting good- and went to bed, eagerly waiting tomorrow.
