The party continues

Amy leaned across Sarah to ask Jordan, "you don't want to join them?"

Jordan looked uncharacteristically nervous. She eventually explained, "I'm never sure if I fit in at these places."

When met with confused looks from Amy and Sarah, she continued, "it's just that for guys, I'm," she pointed at her throat and summarized sheepishly, "special." With a little sadness in her voice, she concluded, "for girls, I'm just another tongue."

After a moment of open-mouth stares from both of them, Amy replied, "I know I'm just the new girl, but you're," she gestured up and down Jordan's body, "not just another tongue!"

Jordan looked unsure, but the conversation was interrupted by a cute petite local who sat down beside them.

She introduced herself as Angel and they started chatting about living in Hawaii.

She explained, "we weren't so sure about the tourists coming back," she took a long slow look up and down Jordan's body, "but I think I'm glad the flights are running again."

Amy broke in, "you know, Jordan was just telling us she wasn't sure if she was going to have fun tonight. What do you think?"

Angel looked confused. She looked from Jordan to Amy and then to Sarah. She smirked.

Sarah smiled back, "maybe you can show her some hospitality?"

Angel turned and yelled at the table of girls she had been with, "hoi! Makinig kayo!" When they turned, she pointed at Jordan and told them, "gwapa doesn't know if she's going to have a good time tonight." Various yells of disbelief and excitement were the response.

The three other women approached and grabbed Jordan's hands. They almost pulled her off the ground as she was encouraged her off her chair and to the dance floor.

It seemed to Sarah that very little dancing was happening as the four girls surrounded Jordan. All eight hands were grabbing, rubbing, and probing anywhere they could find. Jordan seemed to barely know which way to look as the four girls fought for position around her body.

Sarah turned to Amy, placing her arm around her waist, "just us then?"

Amy looked past Sarah to see two other locals approaching their table. She smiled, "I don't think so."

They welcomed the newcomers, managing to have a brief chat before the talking mostly stopped, giving way to fingers and tongues.

[In case anybody is wondering, "Makinig kayo" = "listen up everybody" and in this context "gwapa" would be something like "this pretty girl". I'm just casually assuming everybody we meet who looks native Hawaiian is actually Filipina.]
