Brief Flashes

"Hi James, it's so good to see you again!" Melanie smiled as she hugged her friend "It's been so long!"

"I know, it's great to see you too Mel!" James replied. Under normal circumstances that would have been true, but if whoever was using that app to mess with him came back he could be in real trouble. He hoped they had gotten bored already but he quickly discovered that wasn't the case.

"Can I get you a cup of tea?" James asked.

"Love one! Milk no sugar please!" Melanie smiled back.

James walked through to the kitchen and turned the kettle on when he looked down to see that he was completely naked again. This was a disaster! Melanie was in the next room, what if she walked in. James drew the blind down that gave a clear view of his kitchen to his neighbours and anyone else walking past then desperately played for time. His clothes had come back before, maybe they would again.

"Are you okay in there James?" Melanie called out "Why don't I come in and give you a hand?"

"No, it's fine Mel I've got this!" James answered as calmly as he could manage but he could already hear her walking towards the door. It was opening..

"Don't be silly I can give you a hand!" Mel entered the room and gave James a funny look "Are you okay? You look a bit freaked out?"

James looked down to see with relief that he was fully clothed again.

"Nothing, just a weird morning!"

Moments later the pair were catching up like the old friends they are when whoever had been toying with James started doing it again. Whenever Mel looked away from him - to reach into her bag or check something on her phone - James would find himself naked. Just for half a second, though it always felt much longer. Thankfully not long enough for Mel to see him but only by fractions of a second. James knew he was being toyed with, he knew this was only going to get worse and he knew there was probably nothing he could do about it.
