Dinner time

Dinner time is always a meat-centric mess of whatever dad decides to smoke on the Traeger and whatever is on sale at the grocery store. Thankfully, we did buy a quarter of a cow last month, so our deep freezer was packed. Dad had thawed out some good steaks for tonight. Some cast iron fried potatoes and oven roasted vegetables and you'd think we ate like kings.

The smell of the steaks drew you out of your room before the sound of your dad screaming, "Food is done, come and get it!" throughout the house. That man may be a lot of things, but BBQ, he's a god. I walk out of the room and see the John holding some object. "Hey John, what the hell is that, a new vibrator?" I spill out.

"Yeah, must be for you." He replies. "Nah man, I don't even remember ordering this thing, the package said it was from Singapore or some shit, I can't read that shit." he pauses, "Hell, I'm using Google Translate just to see what each button means." You look over and he's got written down what appears to be 12 different choices for buttons. "Fuckin weird man.", you say pretty nonchalantly and dismiss his alien remote altogether.

"When the hell are you going to college?" You randomly ask John.

"Look man, I needed to take this year off and do something to make my application look good. These damn engineering schools don't accept anything other than otherworldly projects or an insane amount of money. So I'm trying to figure out what the hell would be good to submit." He thinks for a moment, "Hey maybe I can use a study on how much you guys are losers."

Kaleb walks out of his bedroom halfway through the last part of that sentence. He replies, "Maybe WE can do a study on how much of an idiot you are. We'll get the credit and you can turn wrenches for your life."

"HEY FUCKERS." your dad snaps, "What exactly do you think paid for this house, and this dinner? Turning fucking wrenches. Now sit down and eat your food."

"Yessir." you all say pretty simultaneously.
