wake in the middle of the night to the intruder alarm

A faint beeping wakes you up in the middle of the night. You realize that this is one of the many Palace security precautions you were educated on. A yellow alert: an unidentified, but dangerous, figure has entered the palace. You make your way to the throne room as quickly as you can to find a hooded figure standing in front of Durga.

He removes his hood and you recognize his face. It's Luke Skywalker, the son of Vader, the Jedi Knight. He waves his hand, negotiating with Durga, demanding the release of Solo, the Wookie, and Leia.

Durga's booming laughter fills the halls. He retorts, "Jedi mind tricks don't work on me, foolish Jedi." The throne room laughs along with their employer, and Luke stands their looking embarrassed, as he also takes note of the horrifying sight of Leia chained to the Hutt's side.

In a moment of rage, he reaches for his gun, but the guards on the side of the room tackle him. A shot rings off, glancing off the ceiling, as Durga thinks quickly. You smile as you and him come to the same idea at the same time.

The previous owner of this palace had installed a switch and a trap door in the middle of the floor. He used it, apparently, to punish disobedient slaves. But, Luke was standing directly atop it. Durga flicked the switch and Luke, along with a guard, slipped through the hole in the floor and cascaded below. Durga's dais automatically slid forward, and all had a good view of the pit below the throne room. A door automatically opened, and a giant beast that Jabba had kept for his entertainment emerged. You had heard it was called a rancor, a beast from Dathomir.

Luke was clearly in a tough spot, and while the guard unsuccessfully tried to escape, the Jedi looked around desperately. You think to yourself that it is odd that such a legendary figure would meet his end beneath your feet.

Your mind wanders, but suddenly comes back into focus as you see Luke throw an object with superhuman agility, striking the winch to the gate, and dropping the metal portcullis atop the rancor's head. Luke had managed to survive.

You puzzle over this as the Palace erupts into mixed emotions. You look over at Leia, who betrays a satisfied smirk to herself.

Suddenly, you realize that the intruders are not some ragtag bunch of suicide rescuers. They have some sort of plan. No mere fool would escape an encounter like that with a rancor.
