Adam has the patience of a saint

“Eris.” He gently says as he removes her hand. “You’re not thinking straight right now.”

“Daddy… I want you…” Eris pouts.

“I know sweetheart. Daddy loves you too but doing something while you’re so emotionally vulnerable, it would be like taking advantage of you.” Adam explains.

“Then, can you hold me? Just for tonight.”

“Of course.” Adam pulls his daughter in for a hug and the two of them lie side by side until they drift off into a fitful slumber.
