Admit Guilt, Extend Grace

The goal was pretty simple. Marcus would be home in 6 hours. You just need to make sure that Jennifer no longer wants to tell him what happened within that time limit. To that end, you just need to get back in her good graces. So you chose your alterations with intent to boost them.

"I am a good girl; I am stupid."

"It is rude to judge or condemn Dustin for being attracted to me."

"Marcus would want us to forgive."

And then you waited for a couple hours. Let her stew in the complicated feelings for a while, before making French fries and chicken nuggets. You listen in to the door and hear the vague sounds of sobbing. "Jennifer!" You called through the door. "I made some food!"

"Go away! She shouted back, anger still staining her voice, but not quite so sharply as before.

"Let me in!" you commanded. "I just want to clear the air!"

You hear shuffling on the other end of the door for a couple of moments before the door opened up. Jennifer stood there, dressed in only a large T-shirt. You handed her the plate, but she made no move to take it until you commanded her to. "Take it. I made it for you."

"Thanks." She curdled at me, eyes still red from tears. "Is that it?"

"Let's sit down." You gestured to the bed. "I want to apologize for how things went just now."

"Are you finally ready to own up to what you did?"

"Yeah." You sit down quietly, and she sits down on the opposite foot. "I take full responsibility for my part in what just happened. I didn't know what kinds of things you were into or how it affected you. And once you started moving too fast, I should have stopped things. You are just so hot, and with that outfit, I couldn't control myself. I should have known better."

Jennifer paused for a moment at the apparent candor. "I suppose I can't be judge you for finding me attractive. I've known for a while, after all, and it's weirdly flattering, in a way."

"You should return the apology." You push, trying to get her to admit to something.

She sighed. "I'm sorry for choosing such a provocative outfit and putting on a spicy movie," She returned. "I was trying to impress you, and I got carried away." She began to cry. "I'm so stupid. I wanted to be good, but I fucked things up."

You let her cry for a few moments and take the opportunity to quietly switch the boost from "Marcus would want us to forgive" And "I'm a good Girl: I'm stupid" to "It's important and fulfilling to know Marcus desires me; he is my husband after all." and "It's more fulfilling to impress Dustin than Marcus."

"you don't have to tell Marcus about what happens between us," you suggest. "You don't want Marcus to lose interest in you because you made one mistake." Seeing her pause at that, you try to push with your other suggestion. "Besides. I think it would be more impressive if we could bury the hatchet completely and be friends. What do you say?"

"I'd like that." She responds earnestly. "Let's just try not to get carried away next time."

"Agreed. You and I are friends. And I always treat you how you deserve." You shift over to give her a hug, which she accepts. "Now eat your food." You turn to leave and are stopped by Jennifer grabbing your shirt.

"Before you go. Please try to dress better in the future. You know that pants stay off."

"Oh, right. I'll change after a shower." You are honestly surprised that that one stuck so hard. Maybe she already didn't like wearing pants? And as you walked out the door, confident that you prevented a catastrophe, you boosted your special suggestion, and moved to take a shower.
