Kill time

Sometime later the doorbell rings.

At first, Ethan wonders who would be stopping by so late, before remembering Charlie said she'd be stopping by with some money. Pulling himself to his feet, he makes it over to the door just as the bell rings a second time.

"Geez," Ethan sighs, opening the door. "Impatient much?"

Standing on the porch, Charlie gives Ethan a small shrug. "Told you I was coming. You should have been ready."

"I didn't think you'd keep me waiting so long." Ethan gives Charlie a once over, noting that she appears to have showered and definitely changed. Her overalls are replaced with a hoodie and sweatpants, the loose clothing just as unflattering.

"I had to do a couple things." She shrugs. "Can I come in?"

She starts moving before Ethan can answer, causing him to roll his eyes. She takes her shoes off without being asked at least, so at least she's got that going for her. Closing the door, Ethan follows behind her, the dusky tomboy making her way to the couch. "Make yourself at home..."

"Thanks," she flops down on the couch, letting out a content sigh. "Man, I'm beat."

Ethan isn't surprised, given the days work. While Charlie was tough, she was still slight, not packing much in the way of muscle despite her line of work. Which reminds him of the reason she's here. He wonders if he should cut right to the chase or wait...
