"Lauren, just listen please." Her mother said, rubbing her eyes.
They had been doing these lessons for two years. Victoria had expected them to bring her and Lauren together as mother and daughter. Instead it had been infuriated and annoying for both parties. The pair simply could not get along, and Lauren was barely learning the most basic magical skills. She had the abilities, but no patience for the skills required to use them properly.
"Mom, this is dumb!" Lauren said, after more than an hour at failing a basic spell. "This spell is pointless! Let's just move on!"
"Pointless, is it?" Victoria said, totally fed up. "Let's see about that."
Victoria decided to teach Lauren a different kind of lesson. A hard lesson, like her own mother did to her when she was learning magic and would be obstinate. She waved her hands, preforming a spell and trying to suppress her grin...
