Chapter 2 by FallingStars
What do I see surrounding me?
A Green Hell of despair
As I start to look around I slowly become crestfallen.
I see no sign of human life. If there was no one in sight I could say to myself that I am simply somewhere less frequented but...
[There is no roads, no maintained path, no signs or man-made constructs and not even footprints?!]
Only the boundless field of grass and flowers with some occasional trees disrupting the unchanging scenery in front of me. With some far away montains toward the East.
I look behind me, hoping for anything that would connect me with civilisation. Even a trashbin would do!
But even my pleas would be tossed into that imaginary bin.
[A huge forest seriously?!]
A sea of wood and leaves overwhelms my eyes. The forest is not directly behind me per say, but maybe 50 feets behind me; a few trees ahead of the others forming the vanguard of the forest for the sake expending it's borders.
Among the plantlife of the forest, some are looking familiar and generic and others seeming more diverse and unusual.
[In other words, I don't know anything. Great.]
Recovering from the despair inflicted by the green colored hell. I try to calm myself and I try to find some confort from my sightings:
First, I am in no direct danger. Yeah, I know but at that point I take anything.
I do read a lot and not a lot of characters that wakes up in unfamiliar places with amnesia, can be said to be in a safe place.
Nothing seems threatning for now and I do somewhat recognize similar looking plants, I should be able to find something to eat and drink. I also see some wildlife a.k.a. some birds and some buterflies.
I should be safe from getting cold because I still have my clothes.
[Althought my phone and other electronics seems to be missing. I still have a white long-sleeved shirt, a pair of blue jean pants and a pair of green shoes on myself and an empty black backpack that was beside me when I openned my eyes.]
Secondly, my amnesia seems to affect only specific memories, I seem to be able to remember common sense stuff and basic knowledge about myself.
I do remember reading lots of books but not their titles or what they were all about.
I also remember my basic informations, My name is Archie and I'm 20, I am a 5'6 feet tall man with short ruffled black hairs. I am pretty average in term of strenght but I rembember being proud of my above average grades.
Not that school grades will help me now but, it's better than nothing. Not much to remember but I at least know a bit about me.
Now before everything I should try to find either something that will tell me where I can find people or somewhere to spend the night, spending the night outside is a direct invitation for troubles.
I decided to go and explore the plains towards the North. It will be easier to see signs of people and the straight terrain should allow me to continue ahead wihtout too much trouble.
Determined and eager to move away from the forest, I start my first exploration in search of where am I?
I walked for about two hours trying to not stray from my original direction. My search for shelter or potential traces of mankind ended up being for nothing.
Of course, while on my walk I tried to find anything that would help me find my position but the only change I managed to see was the fact that I found traces of rabbits living around here.
[Well at least I know where to find meat when I will be able to hunt them.]
Suddenly on the horizon I see an unexpected sight!
What do I see in the horizon?
