Motherly Bliss

Mira lay on the bed next to Douglas, holding her daughter, Kannika Chen. She marveled at her features, half Thai, half White. Finally, she had a blessing, something she'd never thought would happen in her life. A child she could see herself in.

Mira was reluctant to part with Elizabeth, and Monique with Douglas, but both acceded that it had been a temporal lust, and yielded to the return of normalcy. Mira could focus on her destiny -- being the best stepmother she could be, and the best mother and wife she could be.
