Ready to sign

“Thank you, Maria! Nice of you! Also tell the children that we can screen a few movies after lunch tomorrow. I will also prepare the paperwork for you two so we can formally have you working here.”

“Paper, master Oz?” Juan asked as he did not understand much of it.

“The contracts. Uh. Job papers, so you two can legally work here.” Oz tried simplifying it as best as he could.

Juan and Maria looked at each other and were genuinely happy. Maria had the scene from earlier still linger on, but she was glad that their new jobs would be on paper too. Up until now both of them were sure that they would be staying here illegally. This further strengthened their resolve as they realised that their children would really have the opportunity to go to school. Their image of Oz was once again dragged to the positive side, although Juan’s image was again that of a saint, while Maria’s opinion was still a little mixed.

“Thank you, master Oz. Much thank you.” Juan said and Maria nodded. They both went out of Oz’s room and returned to their children who were already sleeping after their exciting day. Once Juan lied down, Maria turned off the lights and managed to cover up her lingerie. Juan was already snoring loudly when she got into bed. She felt a little disappointed, but fell asleep soon after.
