Departures and Arrivals

At the security checkpoint, Douglas hugged Mira tightly. Walter shook his hand.

"Don't worry, boy, I'll take good care of her," Walter said. Of course you will, Douglas thought. Part of him wondered if they would even return.

At the same time Mira and Walter departed, another flight was arriving. Black Jack stepped off the plane. He felt healthier and cleaner than he had in years. He was hopeful that Elizabeth had waited. He wanted to reclaim his rightful place.
