Corporate Espionage

"Tell me about Envision. That's the big studio, right? Just came out with "Liveable Movies"? What sort of new tech are we talking?" Clarissa asks, sliding a chair out from under Dean's desk and flopping herself down into it. His eyes flicker down to her chest which bounces slightly from the motion, before returning to meet her gaze.

"That's what you're there to figure out. New tech. Top secret. A few rumours, but nothing concrete. My best guess is it's related to "Liveable Movies", but no one knows how. I'll be completely honest, the intel on this one is pretty crap. Comes from a former employee with a grudge." Dean replies, clicking his mouse a few times before Clarissa's phone beeps indicating that the file has been received. "All he said was that they suddenly started pumping the R & D department with a bunch of money and didn't say why."

"So... It's shit intel then." Clarissa sighs, leaning back in her chair, adopting a lazy slouch. "Do I get to talk to this guy before I go in? Going to need a little more info than "the research team is researching something". Reckon this is why he got fired? Being a vague asshole?" She asks with a smirk.

Dean chuckles and shrugs, before reaching into his top draw and pulling out a neurolink upgrade from his desk and sliding it across the table towards Clarissa. "He did look a bit like a rat. But he's a rat who's offering $50,000 if you can pull it off. Gave us this too." He says, tapping the neurolink with his finger.

Clarissa pauses for a few moments, looking at the device with a cautious gaze. "Dean... You know how I feel about-" She starts, giving him a wary look.

"I know, I know. You like being 30 years the rest of the world. I get you're concerned, but I've scanned this thing for malware 10 different ways, and it comes up clean. All that's on it is executive access to the studio. Passwords, top tier access. It's going to make your life a lot easier." Dean says, keeping his finger on the device. "Look, you don't have to do use it. I trust your methods, you'll just be in for a longer haul. That's all."

Clarissa is no stranger to these devices. The main difference between her cyberlink and the neurolink, is that the neurolink is implanted hardware. The cyberlink is a physical device which can have malware stored and uploaded, making it more difficult to trace since she can just throw it away if need be. The neurolink on the other hand is infinitely more intuitive. Instead of being driven by physical inputs, it's instead operated by the user's thoughts. Link with a piece of tech and complex commands can be executed in seconds.
