Cataclysm
The rumors of Moses arrest were causing the town to become a powderkeg. Douglas listened to the radio on the way in. The arrest of the state's first Black Governor had the Black community on the streets, protesting. And as peaceful as it primarily was, some looting started to occur, causing a counterprotest of people happy to see a corrupt Governor arrested, and more nefarious elements seeking to cause as much damage to the Black portions of the city as possible. By the time Douglas arrived, much of the area that he and Shanequa called home was ablaze. And when he made it to the jailhouse, he learned that Moses Jones had indeed been arrested, and his last meeting was with Elizabeth Castle-Jones.
