In for a pound

"D- do you think I, uh, could maybe- I guess sleep in your room tonight?" Your nervousness and timidness betrays you as you stumble through your questions. You do your best to salvage it, "that couch just, ya know, is kinda uncomfortable."

Rachel just smiles brightly at you as she steps back, "We were just on that couch, seemed comfortable to me. Besides, I already said I don't want to take things too fast. Just because you're living with me doesn't mean that I'm ready for you to whip out a ring!" You stare blankly at her for a moment attempting to follow her mental gymnastics. "Besides, this place is still a mess, I'm not really 'in the mood' with dirty clothes all over the floor in my room. Maybe if you get this place nice and tidy things will change."

With little more to say, Rachel slips away into her room. You can tell you've upset her a bit. You'll have to put in some effort to get back on her good side.

As you finish cleaning the kitchen, it occurs to you that there isn't much left for dinner tomorrow. You dig into your pocket for what remains of your life savings, only to reveal a paltry amount of pocket change.

*Note: You've affected Rachel's opinion of you. How characters feel about you influences how you'll be able to handle situations around them. Rachel will not dump you even with a poor opinion, though she may prove more cruel and demanding.
