I cracked my knuckles, and woke Audrey up.

"So," I said. "I don't actually want to stay here."

"No," Audrey said firmly. "You're staying here."

"Okay, but I'm going to pay rent."

"The hell you will. I'll pay."

"All right, but I'm not allowed to leer or gawk at you when you're out by the pool."

"My house, my rules," said Audrey. "And I want you to leer and gawk at me out by the pool."

I grinned. My living arrangements suddenly got a lot better.
