Venus, despite not entirely knowing what was going on, couldn’t bring herself to watch a man die.

Recklessly, she charged at the goblin with hatchet and managed a solid wack with her stick.

She saw a yellow 2 float over the goblin as she did so.

The bought the man enough time to run the other goblin through, before flanking the goblin she had hit now as well.

He smiled wickedly at the remaining little green monster man. And the goblin chuffed, yelled something, in a language Venus couldn’t make out, and darted off into the woods.

“Thank you!” The man said gratefully. Wrapping a torn piece of shirt around his wounded arm. “To be honest I’m not sure that would have worked out in my favor without your help!”

“No problem. I didn’t feel right with watching a man die.”

“You’re a good sort then! My name’s Bwen!”

“Venus, lovely to meet you.”

“What are you doing in their neck of the woods with nothing but a stick, if you don’t mind me asking?”

Venus told him. She didn’t see any reason in hiding it.

“Woah, weird. And you think you’re from another world?”

“Yep.” Venus determined it was probably wise not to clue him in on her uncertainty of reality here. Did him no good either way.

After Bwen had his arm wrapped well and it seemed like the bleeding had stopped, he pawed through the little leather sack hanging around the bow deceased goblin’s hip.

“Eh nothing good. Just some dubious looking dried meat and a canteen.”

He looked up at her. “Looks like you could use the canteen though.” And handed it to her without a second thought.

“As it so happens I’m also making my way to the village. Got some old business there. Fancy traveling together.”

Venus shrugged. “Sure.” He seemed affable and she could use a distraction from over thinking.
