Like a moth to a flame

You weren't surprised as you simply made your way into the car. You somewhat waited for her to stop you, but you also didn't expected to be interrupted, to say.

You entered your car and drove home for the evening, reflecting over the first day with your new abilities. You had successfully spread out the five rings!

White for Mom, Blue for Sierra, Green for Clair, and yellow and red still pending. Would you be able to use these bodies to your benefit? You weren' t sure, but the limited testing you have done today showed you how good they could make you feel. How good being others felt.

You made your way home and quickly get to bed. Your parents seemed to still be out, and for a moment you consider turning to medallion towards the white gem, but you regress. Today you wanted your mom to enjoy herself. You had a lot of time ahead of you to try being her, it isn't like she's going to rid of her son's gift to her soon...

As you got into bed, you took off the medallion and hid it under my pillow for safekeeping. It takes you time to fade to sleep, and unlike previous days where all you could think of were your classes and your relationships, now it was different. You were thinking about the endless possibilities this could bring you. You knew inside you were becoming addicted, but you didn't care.

You felt the urge to do so magnify and realized then how trapped in this medallion you had become. Still.. As long as you tried to do what was right, you rested easy. "Good night, world.."

Yoy dreams were... Strange. You saw five doors, each a different color. The red, white and blue doors glowed quietly. From behind the white door, you heard passionate moaning and the creaking of bed springs. If you pressed my ear to the blue door, I heard the soft snores of a young woman. You heard cannef laughter from an audience behind the green door. Yet the last two doors, red and yellow were silent. Everything else was just an inky black void, and you yourself were a shapeless shadow. You reached for a door, before you were pulled back forecfully!

You awoke with a gasp and nearly rolled out of my bed! Faint memories of that dream drifted away, but that feeling of helplessness clutched at your chest. You checked on the medallion and your worries were eased only slightly. Getting carried away now was a good idea, but bad in the long term. With a sigh ylu put the pillow back over it. "Not yet, buddy.." you said before nearly **** at the sight of your cell phone!

You had slept all morning. Were you exhausted from using the rings so much? That had to be it. An interesting clause on top of interesting powers.

Still, it wasn't the end of the world. It was Sunday, and even though you had an assignment, it was still a few days due.

You hurriedly put on pajama pants before heading downstairs, seeing your sister is in the living room watching TV. "Good morning, Hayley!" You said rather cheerfully. In return she gave youa wave and a soft "hey." Fun. You put that out of my mind for now as you made some pancakes, and soon you are joined by your mom. "Good morning sleepy head!"

You nearly jumped out of you skin when your mother greeted you! You had forgotten it was Saturday yesterday. Today was her one day off a week. She had taken a personal day yesterday.

"G-Good morning, Mom.. Got an assignment Gonna be busy all day. See ya later!" You said rather quickly, trying to hide the awkward feeling. You knew what she had probably been up to last night, and the thought made you blush. Before she could reply you lathered syrup on your flapjacks and made your way back to your room!

Once inside, you sat at your desk, making some space for your lunch as you started up your laptop your college had given you. "Okay. No medallion until this assignment is done." You muttered to yourself. Maybe if you set boundaries you would feel safer using it. And so began the long process of writing a college paper. The topic was some old Chinese tactician, but after some research you managed to scrape together ten pages in a coherent structure. Your eyes felt like dry marbles from staring too long at the screen. You rubbed them before looking at the clock.

You once again gasped at the time, before getting up to toss the pillow aside and take the medallion. You didn't need much of an excuse to go back to your new favorite hobby. In particular, you were fixated on your two newest aqquisitions. The Yellow Gem, and the Red. But who should you try out first?
