Made to the bed, sort of

Opening Alex’s eyes, he knew that he was in the real world in the nurse’s office and he was on the bed, sort of. His head and arms were on the bed, but his chest was hanging off the edge. His legs were on the floor. It looked like he was sitting on the floor while his head rested on the bed. He rubbed his eyes and tried to sit up, but his back ached from the uncomfortable position. Slowly, he rose and tried to lay on the bed. His back started to feel better as it started to straighten itself.

Then the nurse, Kimberly Chung, walked into the room. Her long dark hair was tied into a braid. She was one of the youngest staff members in the school. Also, her well-maintained figure made her the prettiest. Alex wonders why she is working as a school nurse instead of being a model. She didn't look happy when she saw him.

“Did you have a slip of paper to be here?”

Alex shook his head, he hoped that if he explained that his back was aching, she might let him stay. “You see my back...”

Kimberly raised her right to signal him to stop and said, “Stop. If you don’t have a slip, then you cannot be here.”

He tried again to tell her. “It’s my back...”

Again, she stopped him mid-sentence. “I get it that you might be in pain, but too many students have used that excuse to skip class. So I’ve to ask you to leave.”

Alex looks defeated after hearing her. He slowly got up and started to walk out of her office. He wanted to do something, but he was in the real world. There’s a limit to how much he can do. As he looked at Kimberly, she wasn’t mad at him. It was as though she was sad to see him go.

He was able to make it to class without much problems. No one looked at him as he entered. He sat in his chair trying to fix his back. No matter what he tried, it didn’t feel like it was working. His back ached for the rest of class.

When he got into history class with Ms Turner, he noticed that there was something different about her. When she was talking to the whole class, her eyes would drift toward him. Yet when he made eye contact with her, she would look in a different direction. He figured that cause was the dream. He was curious about how much she remembered it and did she remembered it was him in her dream. It didn’t matter though. Right now, he felt like he could sleep in her class without any worries. And that is what he did.

By the time he woke up, class had ended and school as well. He felt refreshed and his back didn’t ache as much. On the way back home, he wondered what else he could do in the dream world. First, he wrote in his notebook a list of things he could do in the dream world:

• I control dreams and people that dreamers create, but not the dreamers themselves.
• I can influence the dreamers.
• I can change my clothes and my voice. Also, change the dreamer clothes.
• I can change the property of myself.
• I can extend any part of his body.

Next, he wrote of thinking he should try in the dream world.

• I should change my appearance. Examples: a dog, a famous actor, or an alien.
• I should try to create a clone of myself. Will it be me, will I have it act like me?
• I find a way to make the dreamers change their age. Example: Make Nora become the same age as him.
• Try talking to the people that Dreamers created. Maybe I can mess with their psyche that way. Note To Self: think of a name for the dream people.
• See how far he could walk in the dream world before the dreamer wakes up.
• See how much the dream world affects the dreamer.

He knew the last one was for him when he was awake, but his curiosity wanted to know. The list he created shows he had a lot of ideas, but only using two test subjects wasn’t enough. He needs more people to try it on. He thought it would be better if he kept his power a secret. He figured that if the wrong people found out, they might kidnap him and **** him to do terrible things. He didn’t want his power to be used by others. He wanted to use it for himself. A new idea popped into his mind, if there was someone with the same power as him, how was he going to deal with that? He didn’t want to think about that too much. When he finds someone like that, he’ll have to figure it out then. For now, he needs more test subjects. Who should it be?
