Chapter 8: Nerd Alert!

"Oh, sorry!" a smallish girl squeaked as Andrew nearly walked into her.

In Bree's hands was a small stack of books, the top of which was open. She had been reading as she walked and had no idea Andrew was even there despite his stomping. She shifted the pile into one elbow so she could push her glasses back up on her nose. Andrew wasn't really familiar with Bree, mostly because she cared a lot about school and he didn't care much at all. She was smart and bookish and was rarely in the same class as Andrew. She was off to big things, and everyone knew it.

Today, though, she was as Andrew's mercy.

"No problem," he said, reaching into his pocket.

Bree wasn't unattractive. She was short, but not quite petite, slim by the grace of her genetics instead of effort. Her hair was naturally a warm brown, but was often died to be several shades lighter. Her natural roots were showing and needed to be touched up, but Bree often let her hair go in order to spend more time studying. She wore formal clothes everywhere, as far as Andrew knew. He had never seen her in anything casual, at least. Today she had a button up shirt on and a skirt, like she was at a Catholic private school. The concept of the sexy schoolgirl didn't apply here, Bree's clothes didn't fit her close nor were they styled to be attractive. Andrew, though, could change all that.
