They manage to make it in time.

Emily and her family rush up to the gate, Emily’s arms desperately clinging onto her towel as they hurry through the airport. They scan their tickets, and make it onto the plane.

Emily’s mother sighs. “Well we made it. Unfortunately, being so late…” she gives a look to Emily, “We probably won’t be able to sit together. So find a good seat, it’s a bit of a long flight after all.”

Emily didn’t even think about that. She didn’t want to be separated. She would feel a lot safer with her family… She’s also at the back of the group, meaning she essentially has last pick of her seat. She watches her mom and dad manage to find a pair of seats next to each other, then Ashley sits in an aisle seat next to a quiet looking girl with her headphones in. Emily looks around for an empty seat, but the plan looks like it might be full already. Surely there’s another seat?

A flight attendant walks up to her. “Miss, having troubles finding a seat?”

Emily nods. “Yes…I can’t seem to find one…”

The flight attendant smile, but gives a wary look to Emily’s attire, before turning and walking down the aisle. Emily follows, until the attendant stops. She turns to Emily.
