What's next?
On the road
Soon, we were on the road. Our path to Darkshore was straightforward, but that was not the problem. We had to go through a tunnel past Windshear Crag. Once a massive forest, Windshear Crag was now half-deforested all because of the latest logging expedition of the Venture Company. The goblins had paid my sister for the logging rights, but we should’ve known better! Trees quickly disappeared under the massive saws and the landscape was quickly turning barren. Yet, the concessions helped us feed the poor in our capital. It was truly a tough dilemma, but our people had to come first!
As our caravan moved through the valley, I noticed curious eyes following our movements. The atmosphere was... uneasy. This was our territory and we had a business agreement with Venture Co., but it still felt as if we were trespassing almost! I noticed Korant gripping tightly the hilt of his sword as he rode next to me.
The dwarves, however, were calm. I was not aware of any agreements they had with the goblins, but it seemed like there was no conflict there.
Despite this, we were eventually approached by a group of goblin guards. We explained that we were on a diplomatic mission, but they insisted we dismount and agree to a search. This was not something I would normally agree to, but the goblins didn’t budge.
Soon, we had to make a choice...
