Chapter 10 by hunttty hunttty

What's next?

to save Matt

Ledria, the nation of the Biomorphs, a matriarchal society that possesses massive flesh pits that operate as military expenditure, being one of the most powerful nations due to their ability to create enormous leviathans and artillery, being on par with the Origin lands and their many kingdoms with old earth tech. To save Matt, this is the land they must traverse, previously being seen as an especially hostile nation for attacking Laken which the other nations chose not to do due to the value of Laken being its neutral zone and trade. They themselves only being halted due to the nation to their side, the Cyberneticus, a race of humans that forsook their flesh for mechanics, being similar in appearance to transformers and terminators. Due to the proximity of these nations, they have had to stifle military power or else risking invasion from foreign powers, having the goblin war prove suspicions as the Cyberneticus invaded, taking the low ridge, a territory of valleys and streams, reigniting conflicts as the goblins were reused for biomass along with a large portion of nature. Hence though the people are still able to be fed, they are like a long stretch of ghost towns in a wasteland, all this turning them into a hostile state.

Upon landing at the port the boat was nearly annihilated from wary defenders, just barely able to hold the adventurers' badge which wasn't enough as the biomorph had to come out, approving their authentication and stressing the importance of the badge. Quickly Matt was brought off the boat in a stretcher, the pain and injury evident on the charred vessel, garnering their sympathy. At the same time, Matt was being challenged with another hurdle, the wish he had conjured had not only split humanity and introduced magic but had either created or brought deities that were able to influence the world in its new history, like removing a column of water from the ocean, having it be filled back in before you can put in the new block. Creating and bringing divine beings that changed the world from a simple difference of species and instead bringing magic along the way, changing the world further. It was one of these gods that greeted Matt, though aware that their history was new, the world itself was made with a history, making them technically older by the world's standards, disinteresting them in their creator. That was true except for one, Vidomas, the goddess of tyranny, a deity that was a mixed of an introduced god and a born god, having her existence like a recycled corpse into a new being while it still lived, creating a mix. Though Vidomas appeared as a small woman in a simple white gown with golden hair, her villainy was apparent as her title was not just for show, being responsible for the monster races and their rule/duty in destroying the world, per her prophecy. But this on its own was not enough to warrant special prying eyes, at least from a man on his **** bed who had exhausted his very soul, what made Matt a threat to the goddess of tyranny was the exploitation, though Matt's wish was for a separated society, the core of the wish was to stop the exploitation of abused ethnicities by other powers. Before Matt knew this, before he could pose a threat, Vidomas pondered removing him, but where was the fun in that? she was not a simple god, on the contrary she wished for blood, to spread her madness and by removing the threat that was Matt would to defy her principles, more importantly it would be BORING as she had a simple thought. WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT.

With that simple sentiment, Vidomas touched Matt's head, giving him a little help, making the competition fun by providing the strength for another day.

WHAT

Stunned as the dreamscape collapsed, Vidomas jumped back and studdered in surprise; W-W-WHAT??!

Matt looked at her, his words evident at the stress he pressed on the issue, his stare more deadly than daggers as Vidomas smiled looking at him. What made Matt dangerous wasn't his power, his luck, his charisma or the fact that he was the core reason for the state of the world, what made him dangerous was his ability, despite being weaker than the people he fought, he pushed through. Matt wasn't like the stories of protagonists who unlocked god-tier abilities or were strong enough to overcome the situation or for some reason allowed the damage despite having trump cards, with less he achieved more than others and that is what made him dangerous, if Matt reached a higher stage, how dangerous could he become?

Just as this idea was thought, Matt was JOLTED awake as a bird had shit on Matt's left peck, causing him to wake up screaming with the phrase

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!
