I grab a couple of tumblers, and take them out to the table, pouring the brandy out for us both. After I take a sip, I explain what happened, starting with my meeting with Evelyn, and ending with Karen's threat.

After I'm done, Maddie just looks at me, dropping back in her seat a bit, her hair a kaleidoscope of different colors, nearly all of them dark. "Holy fuck, no wonder you wanted a drink. That bitch is bad news all around," then she gets a little smirk, "But hey, you can mess around with Evelyn now! That's good news! And finding out she's a freaking tsun? I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I am."

I nod, "I know, it's crazy. But then again, our whole lives have been crazy since we got this app, so I guess it's just par for the course."

She looks me over then, her tail swishing behind her, and asks "So, do you want to veg out to some Digimon for a few hours then? Chill out to an old favorite?"

God bless her. Knowing to suggest a childhood favorite of mine when I need some time to relax. "That sounds nice, yeah. Oh, and I almost forgot, the update this morning? Something interesting dropped with it." I briefly explain the whole 'power item' thing to her, then I ask "So do you want to try out being a pillow for me?"

She pouts a little at that, "But I like resting on you! It's comfy, and I'm kitty. Kitties rest on their owners!" She then smiles, "I'm just kidding. Yeah, sure, let's try it out. Who knows, maybe turning my flab into fluff will be a good thing!"

I give her a sidelong look at that comment, but pull the app up and set Maddie's Power Item to Pillow. We then move to the couch with our drinks, put season one of Digimon on streaming, and I lay my head in Maddie's lap. We lay there watching it for a few hours, then we had to make sure to get Maddie's stuff moved into my room for Sylvia, before calling it a night and turning in.
