What's next?
Beast Boy's mostly unsuccessful search for a lunch partner
Garfield Logan, known to most of the rest of the world as Beast Boy, was very unhappy. Years ago, after he’d left Doom Patrol, he’d wandered the United States in search of a purpose, of a sense of belonging. Eventually, he’d met four incredible people who’d gone on to become his friends. At long last, it seemed like he’d found the family he’d so long been deprived of.
And now the team’s falling apart and it’s all that idiot’s fault!
Robin. Nightwing. Their former so-called “leader.” Whatever he was calling himself now; he’d decided he needed to be more like his deranged bat-father after all and struck out on his own.
Why couldn’t he have stayed here? Things were fine. Great, even. He and Starfire were perfect together and he ditched her for some girl he grew up with in Gotham. Another redhead. Poor Star. She hardly spends any time around here anymore.
He sighed. He was in his room, at Titans Tower. His clothes and belongings were strewn all over his floor and bed. He barely slept nowadays, and when he ate, food was bland and had almost no taste.
Even Pizza Corner’s starting to get a little stale. I guess a guy can only eat by himself so many times before he gets sick of it!
Garfield grimaced as he remembered better times, when he and his friends would go to Pizza Corner and suddenly he wasn’t the awkward shapeshifting kid anymore. In those scant, fleeting moments, he was just Garfield.
“That moron might have left, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t hope for the rest of us. I’ve got to reach them somehow and remind them of how things used to be!”
He stomped over to his door and opened it. He trudged through the hallways until he wound up in the reactional room. A large TV dominated one of the walls. A long, plush couch surrounded it nearly completely on three sides. Attached to the entertainment section of the room was a fully stocked kitchen complete with a table, a counter with bar stools, and various kitchen appliances.
Beast Boy blinked, belatedly noticing the two current occupants of the room. Both were women. Rather good-looking ones if Garfield said so himself.
“I’m telling you; you’re gonna love it. You just need to put yourself out there, M’gann! Guys would fall over themselves to date you!" That was Cassie Sandsmark, known to the world as Wonder Girl.
She’s so freaking hot. Too bad she’s dating Superboy. I may be the most eligible bachelor in Jump City, no, the entire west caast! But even I know there’s no way I can compete with that.
As it was, he was content to admire Cassie from afar. She was wearing a red blouse with the Wonder Woman WW logo emblazoned in the middle, right between her impressive breasts, and a pair of jeans that hugged her magnificent legs.
I wonder if she’d go get pizza with me as friends. She’s never said yes before, but maybe today’ll be different and I won’t have to eat by myself again.
“Oh, I don’t know. Uncle J’onn tends to get a little… overprotective when guys start showing their interest. Besides, I’m… I’m an alien. What if the human guys don’t like me?” Miss Martian wrung her hands together. And how could he have forgotten about her? She was their newest member after the new Robin (who was decidedly less dickish and moronic than the old one). The green-skinned girl shared that characteristic with him.
Heh. Martians are green, just like me. We’re already compatible. I just know it.
Miss Martian had been foisted on the team by her uncle, Martian Manhunter. He’d shopped around for junior superhero teams extensively when she first arrived on Earth. Cyborg, **** to reinvigorate the team after Robin left, had pursued her the most aggressively. Garfield had been worried about a telepath joining (he liked having the privacy of his own thoughts, thank you!), but it turned out she wasn’t the sort of person to invade other people’s thoughts without their permission. She was cool and wanted to be just like her uncle, helping the Earthlings protect their planet.
She’s totally perfect. She just needs to learn it’s okay to date human guys. If she wants, I’m happy to be her introduction to the species!
Cassie snorted.
“Trust me. The human guys’ll be all over you. Look, there’s one right there. See how he’s drooling just looking at you?”
Huh?
He became dimly aware of the fact that at some point since he’d entered the room, his mouth had dropped open. He snapped it shut almost immediately and glared at Cassie.
“T-that’s not true!” he put every bit of indignation he could muster into his voice.
Cassie merely raised her eyebrows.
“Oh really?” she asked, her voice deadpan. “M’gann, you saw it too, didn’t you?”
The Martian looked at him for a long moment before shrugging.
“I think I did.”
Kill me.
Cassie smirked and leveled a smug look at him.
“Well, there you have it. See, boys only really care about one thing, and it isn’t what species you are.”
Miss Martian looked at her in confusion.
“If they don’t care about me being an alien, what do they care about?” she paused for a moment. Her face colored slightly. Garfield hadn’t known it was possible for Martians to blush, and under any other circumstance she’d have looked incredibly cute. “Oh.”
Garfield felt his face burn. Still, he pressed on.
“Um, so I was wondering if either of you two wanted to go get some pizza with me?”
Cassie’s face scrunched up unpleasantly.
“You know I have a boyfriend, right?”
Garfield resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
Yeah, I know. You don’t need to remind me every five minutes.
“Yeah. That doesn’t mean we can’t grab a pizza as friends, right? Or at least as teammates?”
The pretty blonde shot him a dubious look.
“Nah, not today. Ask me again when my memory of you drooling over the mere sight of me is hazier.”
God, is she incapable of not being an asshole?
He sighed.
“Fine, no biggie. Hey Miss Martian, what about you? Don’t tell me you’d say no to some pizza paid for by yours truly.”
M’gann still looked somewhat dumbstruck. Apparently, after spending months on Earth, the fact that human men found her attractive was something of a revelation to her.
Isn’t she a telepath? How do you spend this much time on Earth and not get a sense of what the guys here think every time they see her?
“Oh, um, I was going to meet up with my Uncle J’onn for lunch and some training lessons. I’m still trying to become more experienced with my powers,” she held a hand in front of herself. A moment later, her green skin became transparent and her hand disappeared from view.
I’m pretty sure she said the same exact thing last time.
“Ah, I got it. Another day then.”
M’gann shrugged noncommittally.
“Sure, some other time.”
And I’m sure you’ll just happen to be training with your uncle then, too.
Garfield tried to ignore the bitterness that welled up in his chest. He couldn’t shake the notion that the team he’d grown to call family was long gone.
Whatever. Who cares if Cassie and M’gann don’t want to hang out with me? They’re not even real Titans. Cy, Raven, and Star faced **** with me so many times. They’d get lunch with me. I just know it.
“Nah man, I don’t have time. Go ask someone else.”
Cyborg didn’t even get out from under the obscene battle-car he was working on. The vehicle had been used by the Titans to deploy into chaotic situations in Jump City and throughout the West Coast. It was angular and blocky, sharing a greater resemblance with a tank than a car.
Cyborg himself was underneath the battlecar. His silvery metal-plated legs stuck out from underneath it. Patches of black skin interspersed with the mechanical bits were a constant reminder that despite his outward appearance and abilities, Victor Stone was still very much human.
Garfield heard the hissing of what sounded like a blowtorch. Bright white-yellow sparks danced along the floor like nightclub party-goers.
“B-but you’re our leader now. You’re supposed to make time for me- uh, I mean, us. Robin always did.” Annoyed as he might have been with the idiot’s aloofness, he had to respect the man’s dedication to the people he was supposed to lead.
Heh. “Dedication.” What a joke.
He heard a sigh from beneath the car. For a few seconds, he allowed himself to hope. That was a mistake.
The newly-christened leader of the Titans scooted out from underneath the armored car, his back supported by a wheeled board, reinforced to support his immense weight, and Garfield saw his face for the first time for what felt like years, but in reality had probably only been a matter of hours.
Cyborg’s face was split nearly down the middle. The right side of his face was chiefly organic, sporting dark, sweaty skin slightly tinged with soot. The other half of his face was composed of silver-blue metal that radiated an almost alien hue.
His friend looked up at him with two very different eyes, one brown and organic. The other glowed a mechanical red.
“Look, BB. I know you’re anxious to have more get-togethers as a team, but I really don’t have time today. Can we do it tomorrow? If I don’t get these repairs squared away, the car ain’t gonna be mission-ready if we need it.”
That’s what you said last time.
“Fine. I’ll ask someone else.”
He stuffed his hands in his pockets and turned to leave.
“BB, wait,” Cyborg called after him.
Garfield ignored him and left. When he exited the workshop, he waited for a few minutes to see if his friend had decided to follow after him. He didn’t think he’d ever been so unhappy to not hear someone’s footsteps.
Five minutes later, he stood outside Raven’s door.
Should I even bother asking her? She almost never comes out of her room now.
His hand hovered over her door.
“Go away, Garfield.” A cool, monotonous feminine voice spoke, muffled somewhat by the door.
She knew I was here before I even knocked on her door. That’s so… I don’t know if I’d call it creepy, but…
He shivered.
“Oh come on, Raven. I just want to say something and then I’ll leave. Please, can I just come in for a few seconds?” he said as politely as he could. An orphan with few real mentors or parental figures, manners didn’t come easily to him. It was only when he realized that his perceived immaturity could sometimes grate on his friends’ nerves that he made any effort to suppress that part of himself.
Raven was silent for a few moments, and he wondered if she’d already forgotten about him, immersed in her seemingly constant meditation.
“Very well,” he heard some mechanism crunch. “The door’s unlocked.”
Garfield didn’t need to be told twice. He grabbed the door handle and twisted, opening it to reveal a dimly-lit room. The only sources of light were candles that were fastened to the walls or placed atop dark wooden furniture. In the middle of the room, Raven hovered.
He traced his eyes up and down her body. She was dressed in a simple black leotard that left little to the imagination. Her short violet hair framed her perfect face beautifully. In the middle of her forehead sat a ruby rhombus-shaped gem. He didn’t know how long he’d been attracted to her. Probably from the moment he’d met her. Despite her dismissiveness and impatience with his antics, and the general sense that the two of them fit together like oil and water, he was pretty sure he loved her. And while he wasn’t the world’s greatest expert on relationships, he was pretty sure she’d flirted back with him a few times and he knew for certain that she’d once smiled minutely at one of his jokes. She’d denied it, of course, but her vehemence had only made him more certain that he of all people had gotten Raven to show a crack in her usually unflappable façade.
Unfortunately, things had never quite worked out. After Robin had left and the team started steadily drifting apart, Raven had begun sequestering herself in her room. She’d stopped eating meals with them and had even withdrawn from her friendship with Starfire. Despite the two being polar opposites personality-wise, the fact that they were the only girls on the team had been a unifying factor.
Honestly, I’m not surprised Star seems like she wants to jump ship. No one wants to live in the same place as someone who wants nothing to do with them.
He took a moment to admire her thick thighs (he was slightly disappointed she was facing the door this time; her ass was probably the juiciest bubble butt he’d ever seen in person) and her toned, gray-skinned legs that were crossed beneath her as she floated in the air, her eyes closed in silent contemplation. Her leotard adhered scandalously close to her stomach, her pussy, and her huge breasts. They swayed slightly as her body dipped up and down in midair. Below, a faint outline in her leotard showed the edges of her pussy lips.
God, she’s so fucking hot. She definitely puts Cassie and Miss Martian to shame. The only girl in Jump City who even holds a candle to Raven is Star.
“So are you going to ask me something or did you just come here to gawk at me?” her voice was quiet, but it cracked upon him like a whip. She still hadn’t opened her eyes.
He nearly shifted into a rhinoceros on reflex.
“Um, yeah. Sorry. Uh… I was just wondering if you were in the mood to get some lunch.”
“Lunch.” Raven said in her trademark deadpan.
“Yeah, you remember when you, me, and the rest of the team used to go to Pizza Corner every week? We stopped when Robin left and I’m trying to revive the tradition. So, you interested?” Garfield tried his best not to sound **** and was only moderately certain he’d succeeded.
She didn’t reply for a few seconds.
“No,” she said finally.
Garfield winced.
“Are you sure? We can get whatever you want and I’ll pay for it. Or we can go somewhere el-”
“I said I wasn’t interested. Now leave.”
The air shook slightly.
Garfield glared at her.
“Fine, you’ve made your point.”
Normally he’d be hurt and angry, but now he just felt numb. He turned and exited Raven’s room. He didn’t see his former crush’s eyes open and stare at him, glowing with remorse. He didn’t see her mouth open, a few words perched on the edge of her lips.
Stop. Don’t go.
He shut the door behind him more forcefully than he’d meant to.
As he walked down the hallway, he couldn’t help but take stock of his life. He ran over every decision he’d made, wondering if there was something he could have done to prevent things from ending up the way they had. In the end, he couldn’t find anything, and the feeling of powerlessness that ensued was like a chasm opening in his chest. He swallowed bitterly and paused by the window. He gazed out onto Jump City, his home for the last few years. Now, much like when he’d first arrived, he felt like a stranger.
Maybe it’s time I think about a change in scenery.
Just as he was about to look away from the window, a blur of red and purple flashed past. His eyes widened. Before he even realized what he was doing, his feet were moving. He made his way to the nearby stairwell and ascended it like his life depended on it.
He found Starfire on the roof.
Red-haired, green-eyed, and tall, Starfire was a vision; one of the most beautiful women he’d ever seen. The Tamaranean’s skin was of a slightly orange-ish hue, giving her the look of a truly exotic beauty. She wore a stylized purple top that showed off her toned midriff and a skirt that came down to just above her knees.
She was tall, standing above six feet and dwarfing his modest frame easily. When they’d first met, she’d been somewhat thin and scrawny, having been starved and abused for months by her Gordanian captors. She’d filled out significantly since then, becoming almost Amazonian in body structure while still managing to look impressively feminine. Her breasts were large and perky, rivalling Raven’s in sheer size. Where Raven’s thighs seemed to be mostly fat, Starfire’s were thick with muscle, though there was just enough fat there for her to jiggle in all the right ways.
Stop it! Starfire’s like a sister to me. I shouldn’t be thinking about her that way.
Yet, he found he couldn’t help himself.
I’ll never understand why Robin broke up with her. She’s like totally perfect!
Sensing him, Starfire turned her contemplative gaze away from the city. When her eyes met his, she smiled in a way that made his heart do somersaults in his chest.
“Beast Boy!” she moved up to him so quickly she appeared to teleport and then immediately enveloped him in a hug. Their size disparity meant Garfield’s face was squished between Starfire’s big pillowy breasts. Before he had a chance to truly enjoy himself, his chest clenched at the sheer **** with which the alien woman had embraced him, sending flashes of pain throughout his body and making it difficult to breathe.
Oh god, it’s like she’s crushing me to ****. Heh. Not a bad way to go out!
After a few moments, his survival instinct overrode his sense of enjoyment.
“Urk… Starfire… can’t… breathe…” he choked out. Stars danced throughout his vision, whether from his face being sandwiched between two of the most amazing tits he’d ever laid eyes on or the lack of oxygen, he could only guess.
“Oh, I am sorry!” she released him immediately.
He coughed a few times and took a deep breath to settle himself. Starfire averted her gaze. A bright red blush dominated her face.
Sometimes I forget that for all her strength and hotness, Star’s still pretty new here.
“Beast Boy, are you okay?” the redhead asked softly.
He nodded.
“Yeah, I’m good. If you got close to really hurting me, I’d have changed into something more durable, so no worries.”
She nodded.
“I see, that is good. I still need to watch myself. The strength in me is something that can hurt humans if I am not careful with it,” she let out a sigh and smiled. “So, how are things, Beast Boy?”
He shrugged.
“Oh, you know. Same old, same old. Actually, now that you’re here, I was wondering if you’d like to get some lunch.”
Starfire’s face brightened immediately.
“At the Corner of Pizza?” she asked hopefully.
He chuckled.
“Yeah, there.”
Starfire nodded.
“I would love that! Is anyone else coming?”
Garfield shook his head.
“Nah. I asked, but everyone except Robin – the new Robin, I mean – seems busy.”
Starfire wilted slightly, and Garfield cursed himself for even mentioning the name.
She nodded after a few moments. The movement caused her breasts to wobble enticingly.
“Very well. Will the… new Robin be joining us?”
Garfield shook his head.
“No. For some reason, I couldn’t find him. Maybe he’s out and about. He kind of likes to go on patrol when the rest of us aren’t doing anything.”
Starfire smiled.
“It will be just us, then.”
Garfield grinned.
“Yeah, I guess so. So, you ready to head out?”
Starfire answered by pushing off the ground. She slowly rose into the air and hovered there. Her beautiful emerald eyes gazed down at him in invitation. For a brief moment, he felt like everything was right in the world.
Garfield shifted himself into a falcon and took to the skies.
