Michael was Hugh’s closest and best friend. Mara always knew him as Mikey though. He always went by the shortened version of his name. It just seemed more natural and playful on him, much like his character. If Mara was to talk to Mikey about how pissed off she was with Hugh it was bound to get back to her boyfriend, sorry, ex-boyfriend!

Mara liked Mikey. He was smart, funny and attractive. Mikey would have been every bit her type if she hadn’t met Hugh and dated him first. He was the typical tall, dark, and handsome. Well maybe not as tall as Hugh, just a little shorter, but his hair was dark brown compared to Hugh’s light brown.

Mara frowned. Of course, Hugh’s best friend would defend him. Mikey was probably in on the secret affair too. She began to think she regretted responding to Mikey’s message now.
