Josh and Toby talk

“Josh?” Toby asked.

Me and Toby were driving down to the local boxing gym. He had taken some interest in getting fit, and as we all know, the fittest athletes are boxers. Or best conditioned. That was at least my perception. I did a bunch of other stuff too, but boxing had the easiest mechanics for a guy of… Toby’s stature. Sure, he had started swimming, but when in a conversation about some amateur fights I had done before I began college, he asked if the gym had fitness boxing. “Of course they fucking did,” I had said, laughing. “They only have a couple of active fighters.”

But back to the conversation at hand.

“What up, buddy?” I asked, giving him a glance to let him know I was paying attention.

“Have you ever been… unfit?” Toby asked shyly.

“What?” I asked. I knew what he meant, but I needed to buy myself time to broach the subject.

“Girls always look at you. Amanda even said other girls think of you when… you know, they’re with… their guys,” Toby asked.

“Amanda been gossiping now? When was this?” I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“After the first party. You and Kimberly went to bed,” Toby muttered.

“Well. To answer your question. No. I have always been active. I live an active lifestyle, and I eat well. You know, Kim’s enchiladas, eh? But yeah. I work out like a motherfucker and live active. You know this, I told you about when I tried for the Olympics? Fucking coronavirus, man,” I explained.

“So how?” Toby asked.

“You wanna get ripped and have huge veiny arms?” I joked. But Toby nodded.

Was this some ploy to get fit for Kim? I knew he had a thing for her. And that they had been fooling around with some handjobs and facials and hot stuff like that. Kim told me all of it. It was strange, but it excited me to see her act like she did. As long as it was what it was.

“Do Kimberly work out? Except swimming?”

“Hey now, you can’t get an ass like that without some effort,” I said, playfully slapping Toby's shoulder. “She does her lunges and squats. So back to you, buddy. Well, swimming and boxing a few times a week will certainly help you out. And then, cut down on the Cheetos, eh? And the main key is to stay consistent,” I explained. “Here we are. Be careful, Freya hates noobs.”
