Take in a performance!

"Where do they find all these people?" said Bonnie, looking around. Everywhere she looked, there seem to be some kind of performance going on. On one corner, a juggler in a striped shirt was keeping no less than eight brightly-coloured balls flying through the air, along with multiple pieces of fruit. Two stalls over, a fire-eater in a leotard pursed her lips and blew a ten-foot plume of blue flame. Further along down the avenue, a pair of girl contortionists twined around each other, clad in spangly bikinis, their skin painted to make them look like snakes.

Susie frowned. It was a bit of a puzzle. The carnival almost seemed like it was bigger than the town. Pinkwhistle was hardly some big-city metropolis. And there were guests mingling in the crowd that she could swear she'd never seen before in her life, even though she knew practically every last person in Pinkwhistle by sight. Some of them wore strange clothes. They looked like they might be from Chicago, New York, even Europe... or somewhere more foreign still.

"Look at her go!" said Bonnie, watching a girl in a miniskirt on a unicycle. "They're so cool, Susie! We have to check them out!"
