Finding some quests.

The next morning, after Megumin and Darkness had given him his morning "wake up call," Kazuma went with the girls to check out the quest board again to see if anything new had popped up. "As expected, it's taking a bit for the easy and only moderately difficult quests to come back..." Kazuma grumbled. "At least a few more of the high level ones came in, so we can pick out one that we have a shot at doing..."

"How about this one?" Fio asked, pulling a quest off the board. "It's a bit unorthodox, because it doesn't involve fighting monsters, at least not directly..."

"Let's see..." Kazuma mused as he looked it over. "Find and eliminate opportunistic bandits huh?" he asked as he read the description.

"That's right... Investigators have found the bodies of several moderately skilled adventurers who banded together to try and take on some of these hard quests, and they weren't killed by monsters, but by human hands," Fio explained.

"Banded together? Like forming a party?" Kazuma asked.

"Not quite. It's kind of like... A party of parties? Basically, multiple parties teaming up to try and handle the harder quests via quantity, that started happening a few days ago..." Fio explained.

"Explains why some of even the harder quests started to dwindle," Kazuma admitted.

"Yeah... From what I heard, results were... Mixed," Fio admitted. "Mostly, these bands got the jobs done, but got some of their members killed in the process..."

"So where do these bandits come in?" Kazuma asked.

"Well... The authorities think they're residents of Axel Town, but don't know their identities... Their guess is that the victims were killed by this group of bandits after succeeding in their quests."

"...I see... So the bandits, instead of doing quests themselves, tail these groups of adventurers, let them tire themselves out doing the quest, then come in and kill the adventurers, and take all their stuff, as well as whatever loot they may have gotten from the quest?" Kazuma summed up.

"That's what the authorities suspect, according to the quest description," Fio nodded. "If we take this quest, our job would be to lure them out, then take them out."

"Yeesh. That method of making a living..." Kazuma shook his head. "Makes my own tactics look quite honorable in comparison..."

"So... You wanna take this one?" Fio asked.

"...hmm, maybe, but if we're gonna lure these lowlifes into a trap... I'm gonna want some help with that..." Kazuma mused.
