Stacey the Aspiring Model

Stacey had always dreamed of being a model. She grew up pouring over fashion magazines and watching shows like Project Runway. She sewed her own clothes, did her own makeup, watched her diet, and had a three hour skin routine. As time went on she'd amassed a large social media following, and gotten a few online advertising deals. She was still waiting for that big break.

Finally, at 21 she got the call she'd waited her whole life for. A professional photo shoot for one of the top five designers! It was a fourth of July celebration, and her photos would run on billboards, magazines and the web. Thrilled, Stacey could hardly wait.

On the day of the photo shoot she arrived. She'd never been to a professional shoot, and found herself in a large warehouse space with dozens of employees setting up lights and cameras. She was overwhelmed until a man came up to greet her.

"Stacey? Thank you for joining us." He said. "Did you fill out the contract we sent?"

"Yup!" She handed him the papers she'd signed.

Stacey didn't have an agent, let alone a lawyer, but she was so excited she just signed the forms immediately.

"Great. This is Megan: she's head of costume and makeup. They'll take you to the back to get you dressed for the shoot..." He explained, gesturing at tall, stern German woman who led Stacey to a side room...
