What's next?
What Came Next
A wave of calm passed over Akira as he lay still, wondering why he wasn't dead. He couldn't physically feel anything, he opened his eyes and couldn't see anything, in fact, there was absolutely nothing. He sat in darkness wondering what had happened to him, wondering what happens next when a voice in darkness called out to him.
"Find me"
The same voice as earlier called out to him. Only this time, it wasn't in his head. He could hear it clearly, as if the person talking to him was sat right next to him.
"Find me Akira"
Akira's eyes opened wider, even though he couldn't see anything. The voice said his name. It was talking to him directly. A thousand questions shot through his mind, wondering who this person was and why they wanted him to find him so badly.
"Find me Akira, find me in Almantis"
A sudden wave of energy shot through Akira's body. It felt like he was in some sort of wind tunnel, being dragged incredibly fast through the nothingness. He noticed a a faint white light in the distance slowly goring bigger and bigger. The energy surging around him growing stronger and stronger as he got closer to the light.
"Find me in Almantis Akira...Help me"
A final cry for help from the strange voice as Akira sped towards the white light. Suddenly blinded by it's brightness, Akira shielded his face with his arms before everything once again, faded to black.
Akira eyes parted slightly. The light from the sun, burning into his head. He suddenly jerked awake.
"The sun?" he thought to himself. I'm not dead?" he questioned, feeling his body for wounds.
He checked his surrounding for his attacker and the women but they weren't anywhere to be found. In fact Akira himself, wasn't even where he was when he died. He was sat in the middle of a strange, unfamiliar forest. Trees climbing into the sky, blocking most of the light except a small ray breaking through to light up where Akira was sat. He looked down at the ground, a strange symbol was burnt into the grass beneath him. He didn't recognise it but somehow knew from all the books he had read, this was some sort of runic symbol.
"Where the hell am I?" Akira asked himself out loud
"You're in the Forest of Celladon" a tiny voice spoke up from behind Akira.
"Ahh" He couldn't contain a slight scream as the voice startled him.
He span around looking for who spoke to him but saw nothing. He scanned the tree line, he looked at the floor, but couldn't see anyone.
"Up here silly" The voice spoke out again.
Akira snapped his neck upwards. Floating right above him was a tiny female creature, no more than six or seven inches tall. It had two bright green wings, long faded blue hair and was wearing a very small bit of fancy cloth around it's body, only really covering its chest, stomach crotch area.
"Uhm" Akira groaned, not really believing what he saw in front of him.
"Hi" the creature spoke in a slightly higher pitch voice than most females.
Akira didn't say anything, only stared at the strange flying thing in front of him. A few awkward moments went by before either of them spoke.
"Are you gonna keep staring all day?" The creature asked.
"I'm sorry. It's just...I don't...What are you?" Akira asked after stuttering over his words.
"Oh she said you might be unfamiliar with this world" The little creature said before continuing. "I'm a pixie"
Akira was stunned. Thought after thought bombarded his mind as he questioned what was going on. "I must be dead" "Pixies aren't real" "Where the heck am I?". All these thoughts and more collided inside his head while he thought what to say next. Only one thing managed to escape his thoughts however.
"Hi" He said, feeling extremely out of place.
"Hi" The pixie responded in a really happy tone.
Akira tried to snap himself out of his stupor and finally get some answers about what was going on.
"Where am I?" was his first question.
"I already told you, you're in the Forest of Celladon" the pixie answered.
"I mean....what world is this?" Akira asked, feeling a little stupid.
"Oh, she told me you might not know where you are, or remember anything really, how about I just give you a super quick run down"
"That would be helpful" Akira said.
"Ok, well, as I said, this is the Forest of Celladon" The pixie said while Akira nodded along. "This forest is located in the kingdom of Galdora. In total, their are thirteen kingdoms, each with its own ruler and subsequent lands in each kingdom. The kingdom of Galdora for example, has six different regions, this forest being one of those six" The pixie finished looking incredibly happy with itself.
"And uhh...do you have a name?" Akira asked, wondering how to refer to the pixie.
"Well, my mistress only recently summoned me so I haven't been given a name yet" The pixie said, still with a smile on it's face.
"So...what should I call you?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure, you can give me a name if you like"
"Oh...well..." Akira paused, thinking about this decision.
He remembered back to one of his favourite stories which also had a fairy type creature in it who's name was Feya.
"How about Feya?" Akira asked the pixie.
"OOOO, I LOVE IT!"
Akira was shocked at how long the pixie got all of a sudden but was sort of moved at how happy the creature was.
"Yes, Feya, you can call me that from now on". Feya said while beginning to do a little dance in the air.
Akira watched on, waiting for Feya to finish before continuing his questions.
"So...you keep mentioning that somebody told you about me, your mistress was it?"
"Yess, although, I'm not supposed to tell you about her yet". Feya replied.
"Oh, why?" The more Akira questioned Feya, the more questions he ended up with.
"All I can tell you, is that, my mistress took a liking to you, she summoned me to help you in whatever journeys you might take"
"But how does she know who I am?" Akira asked.
Nobody knew who he was where he came from. He knew that he wasn't in his own world anymore, given that he was talking to an actual pixie, but how did somebody from another world know about him when nobody in his old world did?
"She told me something about "looking through the veil", that's really all I know about that, but what I do know, is that my mistress needs help and she chose you to help her".
"Why me though? I don't even know anything about where I am, how can I help?" More questions flooded Akira's mind.
"Oh, oh, oh, I totally forgot"
Feya suddenly held out her tiny hands and a faint blue glow began to form. Within a few seconds a strange stone was floating in front of Akira. He looked at it, wondering what it was and what it was used for, but before he could ask, Feya told him.
"This is a magic rune stone, if you hold it in your hand, it will absorb into your body and give you the ability to learn super cool abilities". Feya finished, starting another little happy dance.
Akira, didn't even think about questioning the pixie about the strange stone. He reached out, grabbed the stone and held it tight. Another faint blue glow beamed from his hand before subsiding. He opened his fist and the stone was gone. Akira waited for a moment but he didn't feel any different. In fact, he was a little underwhelmed with the whole event. He at least expected some sort of rush of energy.
Feya finally stopped doing her little dance before looking back at Akira.
"So, what now?" she asked.
"Uhm" Akira moaned. Having literally no idea what he was meant to do. "I don't know, I still have a lot of questions but I also feel like we shouldn't stay in this forest".
"That's a good point, there might be wolves out here" Feya said, ending with a little shudder.
"I don't suppose you know the way to a town or village or something around here do you?" Akira asked, hoping he wasn't going to have to spend much more time in this forest.
"I don't know exactly, but my mistress did say to head east once you woke up". Feya said, pointing eastward.
"Ok...I guess that's a start. Do you mind if I ask more questions while we walk?"
"If I know the answers, sure" Feya said, with a beaming smile.
Akira wasn't sure why, but being with Feya made him feel a little less afraid. He had died only recently and reborn into a new world and he felt like he should be freaking out, but this was something he had always dreamed of. Finding a new world with adventure and mythical creatures and sexy girls, this was almost exactly like some of the stories he had ready his whole life.
Akira and Feya set of eastward, hoping to find somewhere safe. All the time they were walking Akira questioned Feya, hoping to understand a little more about why he was brought here.
