What does Sophie do? Does she tell the truth? If so, does Dexter believe her?
The truth comes out
“Dexter, I, I have something I need to confess.” She gestured him to sit next to her on the bed.
“Sophie, you’re scaring me. What is it?”
“How do I even put this?” She sighed. “I’m… I’m not from around here.”
“Like, you’re not from Nevada? I don’t see the issue.”
“No, I’m from much farther away.”
“You’re no American?”
“Well, I am. The problem is the… when.”
“The when? What are you-?”
“I’m from the year 2347!” Shouted Sophie.
“Come again?” Dexter looked as if Sophie turned into a eight-legged horse.
“It’s true! Carol and me are from a future where clothes are outlawed to everyone who is eighteen or up. So when I turned eighteen, the guy I loved and the rest of my mocked my body. So I went back in time when clothes weren’t illegal!”
“…”
“Dexter, you have to believe me.”
“Sophie, are you pulling my leg?”
“No, I am being serious here.”
“…Frank put you to this, didn’t he?”
“No, I’m speaking the tru-“
“BE QUIET!” Yelled Dexter, startling the woman. “This is exactly the kinda thing he’d pull. Find a girl crazy enough to be ‘love’ me, and then try to make me believe some bullshit story. What else did you lie about? How I was ‘handsome’? That my dick wasn’t ‘puny’?”
“I swear, I haven’t lied about any of that!” Cried Sophie.
“Save it! I’m outta here!”
